Got my ticket for the 1st Thursday in Dolby at 645pm. It looks like it's about 70% sold out now.

This will be the first marvel film I take my daughter to. Hoping it’s like the first trailer which was light and exciting and not like everything else I’ve seen about it since which has seemed kind of clunky.

I grabbed our usual seats for Thursday at 6pm.

Funny you should mention that, because I haven't seen any other marketing for this flick beyond that first trailer. Not even YouTube has bombarded me with ads for it.

I think i’ve had to seek out every ad i’ve seen for it though the only place i would see ads for it would be youtube so can just speak to that.

The follow up ones weren’t particularly bad just a bit clunky like i said and a letdown from the initial one which i thought worked really well.

Hmmmm... notice how the "X" slightly lingers in "COMES NEXT".

I didn't finish the Secret Invasion mini-series. Do I need to know what happened to follow anything in this?

Something happened in Secret Invasion? I watched the whole thing and I must have missed that. I'm very skeptical, but I'm hoping The Marvels brings something back to the MCU. It has been a total shit show (with few highlights) for quite awhile.

This final trailer kind of has a whiff of desperation to it for me. “Hey, it’s Avengers 5, everybody!”

This looks like it was intended for Disney+.

These things don't print money if they aren't at least fun.

Reactions are mixed. Most are saying Ms. Marvel is best part of the movie, with generic villain and disjointed plot. So, basically like all other marvel movies post-Endgame

Social media reactions are also pretty regularly skewed on the positive side.(and more so here for reasons I won't go into) Still, the lighter tone and short runtime are the upsides I would've guessed it would have as well. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're in the mood for.

After watching the TV show, I kind of figured she would shine in any property she appeared in. Outside of Yelena and Kate, who I hope can appear together with good writing forever, Iman has been the highlight for me lately.

And from the looks of things in this movie he's not even the same broken down Fury as he was in Secret Invasion (a series which intentionally separated, for no plot reason, Fury from the rest of his organization, so I highly doubt it even gets referenced besides a one off comment about skrulls or something).

IGN really liked it, so I had my hopes up. But it's currently running a 51 score on Metacritic, which is no bueno. But come on NY Post, I have a hard time thinking this movie deserved a 0.

MetaCritic's summary suggests USA Today downgraded it for featuring "world-saving stakes [and a] villain with a light-up doodad." What sort of challenge should several cosmic heroes face?

We do need more superheroes rescuing cats from trees, I suppose.. someone ask Mark Millar to lend Marvel his prop.

I’ve watched a few reviews and none of them were hating on the women. Just sounds like the movie isn’t very good.

I was mildly interested in seeing it as I actually didn’t mind Captain Marvel but I might just wait and catch this on Disney+.

Makes me curious what movies these people do watch. I guess ones with no women at all, just a bunch of beefy guys.

I will be there on Friday (for a matinee). I've been looking forward to this film. I like the characters and am not jaded quite yet.
