Hateful Eight got no mention of it until it was actually live on the site. I'm sure sites will now write up that in a "surprise drop" Amazon has it for streaming.

For those who care about such things - on Amazon Prime, it looks like the extended cut (aka International cut) is only in HD. The U.S. theatrical cut is in both HD and 4K UHD.

How so? Just more gore or was there more semblance of a plot?

The first time I watched this movie, I was psyched to have a Rambo flick... upon second viewing, it was pointless and awfully short.

This didn't even need to be a Rambo story and felt out of place.

I love Rambo as much as the next guy, but this was a straight up revenge death wish flick with some crazy violence,
Spoiler:
the ripping the heart scene was way over the top. ,

don't know just didn't seem like a good sendoff story for this character that was sitting in my memory banks anyway...

Watched this today. Man those last 20 minutes were hardcore. Still prefer Rambo 4, but this wasn't a bad way to kill 80 minutes

That’s my biggest issue with it. It doesn’t need to be, or feel like, a Rambo story. I guess it was easier to explain some of the character’s backstory (military knowledge, PTSD symptoms, etc.) with an already established explanation but overall, it could have been anyone as the main character.

It makes it all the harder to accept after Rambo had such a good ending for the character and that movie’s final scene feels much more earned than the out of place “ride off into the sunset” ending we got here.

All that being said, if it wasn’t a Rambo movie, I think I would have been a little more forgiving. As a bloody revenge flick, it was actually an enjoyable movie. I haven’t seen the theatrical cut but the extended cut is plenty bloody.

I think this movie was fine for what it is, which is a revenge flick. Rambo now is so far removed from the original Rambo from 40 years ago but that ship sailed long ago so it doesn't bother me with the direction they took here.

The extended cut is now Vudu and on sale for $7.99. I’ll be buying my copy here shortly.

Well I bought it off of Vudu and watched it yesterday. The movie worked a lot better in its longer running time. Most notable difference being the beginning of the movie and some smaller character moments.

If I wanted a better revenge type story like this, I would pick Man on Fire.

If you redeemed the iTunes digital version, the extended cut is a bonus feature.

I bought Last Blood on 4K disc and redeemed the digital version on iTunes and checked yesterday and the extended cut is now an extra.

Saw this on Netflix. It was ok, but I expected about 2 more scenes of action.

The action scenes did deliver though. Imaginative kills haha

It was short but not a lot that will remember except for the final kill.
