If you weren't there for the Infinity War and Endgame, you just don't count and your MCU superhero benefits will be denied!

If they include Fin Fang Foom in this, my interest just quadrupled.

The Abomination? Isn't he also going to be in the She-Hulk series? Never thought he would become a recurring villain after The Incredible Hulk.

Now, I just hope follow up on the Leader, and maybe Doc Samson, at some point in the MCU's future.

I mean, it could be Wong but it feels so right.

Simu Liu looks pretty bland and uncharismatic in both trailers, especially in comparisson to Tony Leung. I hope it's just unrepresentative scences in the trailers.

Funny, I feel the exact opposite.

Re: Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021, D: Destin Daniel Cretton)

No idea the character but that looked awesome. I don’t know why this has to be race thing. Simu Liu is splashed on cover of EW like he’s the savior of Asians. He’s Canadian for gods sake. Since age 5. I mean great and way way long overdue, but why can’t it be a movie about a kick ass superhero? We’ve had some Asian stars, like Bruce Lee before. Henry Golding is doing stuff. Certainly Benedict Wong is known by now. He’s great in Doctor Strange and Marvel Universe. I know it was big with Boseman and Black Panther, but we’ve seen him in Marvel prior. It just all should be normal, but I guess, unfortunately it’s not. I guess it just seems normal to me and don’t think of race, but just watch a hopefully great movie with an unnoticeably diverse cast of characters.

I wasn't aware that you couldn't be an Asian in Canada. If you can't see why an Asian superhero headlining an MCU movie may be a big deal to some, I'm not sure what to tell you.

Haha "Asians, we threw you a bone in the 60s early 70s with Bruce Lee, what more do you want". Hot takes are hot.

Look at your list. The first Asian star you mention died 40 years ago and hardly worked in Hollywood, for his tv show Kung Fu they casted a white actor who looked Asian enough. Henry Golding is on the map for three years but is greatest success is a movie with an all Asian-American cast. Benedict Wong isn't even the biggest Benedict in the MCU, he is Cumberbatch's sidekick on the same level as Doctor Strange's cloak.
So having an Asian lead in the biggest franchise there is, is a very big deal. Your wish for normalcy comes true if there 10 Asian Superheroes and not just Shang Shi and Snake Eyes.

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/asian-a...-name-n1267283

2,766 Americans polled in May asking to name one famous Asian-American. 42% said Don't Know.

11% said Jackie Chan

I'm sure Simu Liu will be great in this even though most in America don't know him.

That survey is a little depressing, especially the part about how comfortable you are with an Asian American as a friend/coworker/doctor compared to how comfortable you are with them as your boss, future in-law, or President.

If we're talking someone with dual citizenship, then Ryan Reynolds.

I'm guessing that Kim's Convenience hasn't been anywhere near as popular in the US as Schitt's Creek was?

Not even close. I don’t know anyone who watches it and I don’t really see any write ups about it here.

Re: Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021, D: Destin Daniel Cretton)

Why are you all taking so wrong what I said? Maybe i didn’t say perfectly. And I acknowledged it is great and long overdue, I’m just saying there were/are others and they are all coming into own. And that he is Canadian, only meant he is Asian-Canadian. It’s not like he just came from China, which I believe is where he is from. He’s been in NA since 5 and is Canadian citizen.

And Runaway, “biggest franchise there is”? Where’d ya get that from? All we know is this is a standalone, like BW and others mentioned, we don’t know if we’ll even see this character again if flop and bad, plus one movie is not a franchise, unless you’re saying MCU.

Do you think I meant Shang Shi, a character hardly anybody knows, which has is first upcoming movie is the biggest franchise there is? I mean you give the answer to your question yourself, so why ask?

You say there are/were others and that's only partially true. Bruce Lee is famous name, but outside of Hong Kong he wasn't a movie star and that's 40 years ago. Your next example is Benedict Wong. So it's setteled Asian representation totally achieved.
