Interesting. I'm a fan of the series so interested to see what they'll do with the reboot. Shane Black seems like a solid choice to direct this.

Black gave us a terrible Iron Man movie. Maybe he can do better with this series.

It'll be interesting to see Christmas is the jungle.

Re: Predator reboot (w/d: Shane Black)

I thought the Rodriguez produced one was supposed to serve as a launch film in a new series?

It was, but it didn't do good enough business.

Re: Predator reboot (w/d: Shane Black)

Well that's fucking interesting.

Predator is my favorite and one of the greatest action flicks ever. Better than the bloated but still awesome Die Hard.

If it was any other person I'd be negative but Christmas in the jungle with a Predator. Cool. Black is 2 for 2 so far.

That'll be a hell of a cast to compare to the original.

I liked predators. Sure it was a sequel that was kind of remaking a lot of the original but I would have loved to see where the next film from that would have gone with. I liked the remaining pair left in there. Would have been neat to see where that went.

Re: Predator reboot (w/d: Shane Black)

What if this time it took place in like the Black Forest at wintertime, just outside some small German town preparing for Christmas? Lots of places to hide. Lots of shit to blow up. Christmas decorations.

Wonder if he'll put himself in the movie and give himself all the good lines.

Yeah it did.

Budget $40 million
Box office $127,234,389

In fact it came in 4 million under budget but I don't remember if it was 4 million from 44 or from 40.

Studios just want to reboot it for the sake of rebooting it.

Another damn remake? Wait, Shane Black and Predator...I'm in. Time to purge that fucking disaster Rodriguez shat down on us.

Re: Predator reboot (w/d: Shane Black)

Was just thinking about this the other day how they will eventually reboot Predator and sure enough here it is. Yeah the Rodriguez floater sucked urethra.
Still though Predator 3 is what needs to happen , and have it set in the desert to have it come full circle with the first two.

So much for getting Arnold and Glover back for a proper sequel.

Count me in.

I thought IM3 was pretty good and am interested to see what direction Black takes the Predator franchise.

Re: Predator reboot (w/d: Shane Black)

I thought the Rodriguez movie was the best of the sequels, although that's not saying a whole lot.

Hopefully we can get away from a jungle setting this time...and maybe have a female hero instead of a male.

There seems to be a new one every week. Check the "hot mugshot" thread for details.

Predators may have made $127M. But I don't know anyone who really liked it.
