I dunno. I thought Predators was fine. The casting seems good, but who cares about Predator in the suburbs. Sounds like something the old Friday the 13th series would do...

I hope that is true. Predator movies should only be on Earth if they are in a warzone. Heat and conflict, that's what draws them. Suburban housewives may qualify as heat and conflict, but that's not what was meant.

Oh crap, just found this picture leak from the set ... Real Housewives: Predator is real!

Just because I like this photo.

As for taking place in the suburbs... Global warming. Concrete everywhere. Spiteful married suburban types. Predator.

re: The Predator (2018 -- w/d: Shane Black)

Shane Black’s reboot of Predator has made room for Jacob Tremblay.

The young actor, who broke through and stole hearts and scenes with his performance in the Oscar-winning drama Room, will star with Boyd Holbrook in The Predator, Twentieth Century Fox’s reboot of the sci-fi action franchise.

The movie has been loading up its actors ahead of a production start in Vancouver in February.

Holbrook is heading a cast that so far includes Sterling K. Brown, Keegan-Michael Key, Trevante Rhodes and Olivia Munn. Thomas Jane, meanwhile, is in negotiations to join the cast.

Tremblay will play the son of Holbrook's character, an ex-Marine who discovers the existence of fierce aliens but finds that no one believes they exist. The son is autistic and bullied in school but becomes a key player in the fight due to his preternatural ability to learn languages.

re: The Predator (2018 -- w/d: Shane Black)

But the question still remains - is this a sequel or reboot? And will Schwarzenegger have any part of it? Well, here's what star Boyd Holbrook (taking over for the previously-cast Benicio Del Toro) has to say about that:

I’m currently working on Predator. It’s not a sequel; Shane Black has made something totally new, somehow keeping within the realm of Predator [while also being] absolutely new in terms of the story that we’re talking about today, and rooted in something real. It’s real fresh. I don’t think you’re going to see [Arnold] Schwarzenegger. It would kind of make it a gimmick. It’s horror, science-fiction and a western.

I read that and noticed that there's a "western" element to it. At first I thought Black had said this would take place in suburbia then I read that that was bullshit, so Predator hunting cowboys and Indians?

Well that's one big fucking non-answer. Who does he think he is? Donald Trump?

Nice. I guess Sterling K. Brown must have wrapped all his scenes for This is Us if he's ready to move on to The Predator.

A fucking mop top kid?! I'm not thrilled with that prospect. We'll see how it plays out though.

I didn't realize Olivia Munn and Keegan Michael-Key were in this.

Well, there's only 3 more episodes left this season. Isn't he in Black Panther too? Will he be filming that after Predator?

My expectations just dropped to an all time low. A child is going to be part of the main cast? Fuck you Black.

I'm with Osiris. Every bit of news has left me colder and colder on this. It is sounding like AvP:Requiem Part 2.

I don't know, I'm cautiously optimistic that Black & Dekker will deliver on this. I can't help but wonder if and how much, camp this might have. After all, Dekker wrote and directed Night of the Creeps and Monster Squad. Also, am really liking the ensemble cast - Munn, Holbrook, Brown, Key

I dig the creative team and most of the cast, but a kid and Olivia Munn? Eh. I know everyone loves to shout "Newsroom" (right?) whenever Munn is called a terrible actress but, sorry, she is a terrible actress.

I think it's safe to assume the kid: wanders off, doesn't listen when he's told to sit tight, runs faster than a predator, does something heroic or ingenious, lives.

Fuck that kid.

Or maybe they have some balls and the kid is the first one to bite it?
