That Spacey interview was in 1999, and he was at the top of his game - so he was very protective of his image and getting acting jobs. A lot has changed in 15 years.

whenever there was a movie pop culture blockbuster that magazine gave a quick relief. back then movies only opened at one theater in town and then you would have to wait like another year for 2nd run theaters. after i had seen star wars mad magazine and trading cards were the only way to relive the movie over and over again. unlike today where the movie is on video in six months or the next day on bootleg. i got tired of mad magazine when the artist wasn't doing the artwork. the movie stars looking dead on in the magazine helped.

I've met the man (and his... friend) and he was a complete asshole. Maybe it's personal but I've disliked him in almost all of his movies (despite liking some of the actual movies).
