That's the reason. The end.

Yes, that's my contribution to the Planes thread.

Now that you mentioned it, I do believe you are correct.

I liked Ghostbusters but not enough to quote it properly.

Re: Planes ? Seriously ?

Just took the family to the Planes: Rescue movie. It was more of the same. It was actually better than the 1st one, but that isn't really hard to do. I mean, it's a glorified 90 minute toy infomercial. There are some good new characters in it, specifically the fire cleanup crew consisting of a bunch of tractors. Overall, nothing groundbreaking (hard to believe, I know), but if you children are into the cars/planes world, it's worth checking out.

Must be preferable to the Smurfs movies though.

Something about the commercial for Fire and Rescue makes me want to see it even though I know it will suck.

Re: Planes ? Seriously ?

This is probably a direct to dvd release since the sequel comes out in less than a year after the first movie was released.

It's in theaters. And my kid is completely into it.

All of the Planes movies (yes, there is a third one in the pipeline) were developed as Direct to DVD ideas and are being done by the team that does Disney's direct to DVD releases, but Disney decided to release them in theaters instead.
