i cannot wait for them to do "Rafts", complete with scene where the Ned Beatty voiced character "Piggy" is raped in the backwoods of Georgia.

i envision them creating a more adult/mature themed studio, like Marvel Max, to put it out.

And being called the worst Pixar movie is still better than a lot of stuff out there.

While Cars wasn't great it was certainly better than Transformers. Wait, what was the question again ?

Re: Planes ? Seriously ?

I love the first "Cars" film, and the second was pretty good too. I'm really excited to see "Planes".

I'm just amazed no one realized this is the same exact plot as Turbo, the whole you can't do that you're too small, but I want to be a racer!

Technically no, but many of Pixar's other "kids"movie have been brilliant for adults and children alike. There are man shows that are nominally for kids that have drawn adult audiences: the DCAU, Beast Wars, and many others.

Even if Planes is credited to Disney I still blame Pixar for it.

You must not have been paying too much attention the last few years. Pixar has blessed us with Toy Story 3, Cars 2, Monsters U, and Finding Dory is around the corner.

Disney on the other hand has given us Princess & the Frog, Bolt, Tangled, Wreck it Ralph, Frankenweenie, & Winnie the Pooh.

They have essentially switched roles.

But by that same token, Winnie the Pooh is a sequel and Frankenweenie is an expanded remake of the original short film.

I will agree with Cars = Worst Pixar movie. (Never saw Cars 2 nor Monsters U though) Brave isn't even close to the worst.

This all came from Jon Lasseter. So even if it is not Pixar, still came from the guy behind Toy Story/Cars

Dusty doesn't want to be a racer, but to conquer his fear of heights.

What's funny is that I remember this originally being advertised as a DTV release. Then suddenly it was being advertised as a theatrical release. But the animation looks low rent compared to Cars and Cars 2 so clearly no improvements were made before the decision was made to release itr theatrically.

I know you're being snarky, but Brave is one of Pixar's best movies. The worst ? Cars (and anything having to do with Cars), UP, Wall-E, Ratatouille, Toy Story 3, and Monsters University.

Re: Planes ? Seriously ?

Brave was mediocre. The majority of Up was decent, but the first 10 minutes were sublime.

I'd say Up and Ratatouille, along with Wall-E are great movies. Just because they're not the newest doesn't mean that they are in any decline.

Toy Story 3 and Monster U were good fun, if not at all original.

Brave could have been one of Pixar's best films, till they dumped the director and retooled it. It was the first Pixar film where I was checking my watch to see when it would be over. That didn't happen during Cars, which I agree does not hit the heights of Pixar's best (which DOES include Wall-E, Ratatouille, and Toy Story 3), but is far from their worst. FWIW, I did not see Cars 2 or Monsters U.

I can't believe I'm arguing plot points of this movie, but he DOES want to be a racer. He just happens to have a fear of heights.

I saw the film yesterday, and it's not very good (big surprise, huh?). It's completely soulless. It's surprisingly joke-free, and entirely plot-driven. The characters have no depth...most are just ethnic stereotypes that would even make Johnny Depp blush. The animation is sub-par at best...this film's roots as DTV are apparent. They don't even bother with a cameo from a Cars character!

Must miss.

They made this movie 50 years ago already.

I do agree Brave is the worst but Cars is second worst. So, not far from worst. *Jules says this while eating a Bratwurst.*
