The directing debut of Jake Johnson and Andy Samberg drops by.
Is Anna Kendrick taking a break or raising a family? She was everywhere and now you rarely see her in anything.

I Saw The TV Glow (2024)
With Director/Writer Jane Schoenbrun's film, how much mileage you get will depend on how much you identify with its themes.
It hit me like an absolute brick. One of my favorite films of 2024 thus far.

Bad Boys: Ride or Die (2024)
Although Directors Adil & Billal were returning behind the lens, I didn't expect this film to be as entertaining as the final result.

Wonderful short film with a fantastic message. I need Dev Patel, Benedict Cumberbatch & Ben Kingsley in all of Wes Anderson's films.

Probably my least favorite of Director Wes Anderson's short films for Netflix, even though the performances (especially from Ralph Fiennes) were strong.

Although flawed, there's quite a bit to admire/enjoy about Director/Writer Jordan Peele's sophomore effort, especially on repeat viewings.

You'll Never Find Me (2023)
Directors Indianna Bell & Josiah Allen's single-location Horror film is a laborious experience and would've benefit greatly from being much shorter.
Cinematography & Sound Design are wonderful though.

The Watchers (2024)
There isn't much to say about Director/Writer Ishana Night Shyamalan's directorial debut, as it contains nearly all of the issues you'd find in one.
Quite honestly, Eli Arenson's Cinematography seems like the only thing holding the film together.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024)
Initially, I was hesitant on giving 145-minutes to a film I'd heard so many mixed reviews about.
To my surprise, I ended up enjoying Director Wes Ball's entry into the Planet of the Apes franchise quite a bit.
Loved all the scenes involving Noa & Raka.

A 15-minute short film created by a collaboration between Paul Thomas Anderson & Thom Yorke.
Though the shots are striking and the soundtrack sublime, Damien Jalet's choreography hold up the entire film on its back.

Gandhi Sony 4K
Ben Kingsley. Directed by Richard Attenborough. 1982
The major events in the life of Mohandas Gandhi (Ben Kingsley), the beloved Indian leader who stood against British rule over his country. Dedicated to the concept of nonviolent resistance, Gandhi is initially dismissed by English officials, but eventually his gatherings of passive protest move India towards independence.
"Gandhi" is a well-made, intelligent and very Old School British "Epic", very straightforward and respectful in its filming and measured of pace. You'll never read the word "breathless" or "edge of your seat" in any review of the film. The glue that holds it together is Ben Kingsley's astonishing performance as Gandhi. He was an unknown British stage actor at the time and seemed plucked out of nowhere, and that made him all the more convincing. At the time I wasn't sure he'd ever turn up in another film since he was so clearly this one person. I could hardly guess that he had so many different characters in him and that'd he would have the illustrious career he's had.

Once Upon a Time in the West (1969) — Great western that I never watched despite owning the old DVD, but with Paramount releasing this on 4K UHD, decided to sit down through the 165-minute duration and it was a wonderful experience. Great performances all around, but most notably Jason Robards and Charles Bronson. Just another homerun from Sergio Leone though I think I prefer "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" but it's close. ****½/***** (4K Ultra HD)

According to the IMDB, Anna Kendrick directed and starred in a 2023 movie called "Woman of the Hour" which is based on the true story of Rodney Alcala, a serial killer who, -in the midst of a killing spree, -was on the show "The Dating Game" in 1978 and won a date with a bachelorette named Cheryl Bradshaw, who would be played by Kendrick. That sounds like it could be an interesting film. Apparently, Netflix has acquired it, so it may turn up at some point.

The Woman In The Window (2021)
One of the worst films I've seen in recent memory, which is surprising considering it's ensemble cast.
Absolutely hilarious for Director Joe Wright to display an image of Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window (1954) during the film's introduction.

I'll admit that previous to this morning, I had never seen Director Peter Medak's film before, even though it's well-known amongst Horror fans.
Enjoyed George C. Scott's performance in addition to a few of the film's more creepy moments.
