Beverly Hills Cop - 35 mm presentation. The print was missing about 30 seconds total (noticed due to having seen the film so many times) but it was great seeing it in a theater with some laughter.

Edit: After reviewing it on Netflix, about 3 minutes was cut from the sequence at Maitland's house.

The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia - 4/5
Documentary about the dysfunctional family of "The Dancing Outlaw" Jesco White.
A family that lives to party, raise hell and engage in criminal activity.
Like a bad car crash you can't take your eyes off it.

Rust & Bone - 3.5/5
A story of how eventually two damaged souls find consolement in each other.
Good film but could have been better if not for certain cliched moments.

Aaahhh been out of the movie loop for so long. Saw Elysium on Friday and liked it more than I thought. Can't decide what to watch today. You're Next, The Grandmaster, and The Butler are the front contenders with oldies The Wolverine and World War Z giving some options. But it's mostly between You're Next, The Grandmaster, and The Butler.

The Keep (1983)
Very interesting early Mann film with an incredible score from Tangerine Dream. It's painfully obvious the film has been heavily edited, and the TD score feels like it belongs to another movie, but I liked many of the concepts he tried introducing here. Lots of good actors deliver worthy performances. The ending is kinda anti-climactic, though.

Admission (2013)
There were moments where I enjoyed Tina Fey & Paul Rudd's roles (as well as the solid supporting cast), but the film just feels too long for such a thin concept. It dragged a bit too much for my tastes.

Sada - 2.5/5
The story of Sada Abe from 1919 when she lost her virginity at 14 by being raped to the event that brought her infamy in 1936 when she asphyxiated her lover and cut off his penis. The comedic approach to telling the story is this films downfall.

Charles Bradley: Soul of America (2012)
Such a beautiful film. It took all I had to not cry during it's run time.

Doppelganger (1993)
Drew Barrymore nude, dancing, bleeding, having slow-mo to-the-wall sex and kicking Danny Trejo in the nuts. What's not to like? 3.75/5

Address Unknown - 4/5
The miserable lives of three Korean youths caused by the American military presence in their country.
Disturbing & heart wrenching film from Korea's best director.
I Vinti - 4/5
Three stories in three different countries (France/Italy/England) involving youths from well to do families committing murders for selfish reasons.
Excellent early Antonioni.
Beyond the Black Rainbow - 4/5
A young psychic girl trapped in an institution against her will plans to escape. A great trippy throwback to the sci-fi films of the 70's & 80's.
The Divide - 1.5/5
Survivors of a nuclear holocaust resort to savage behavior after being trapped in an underground shelter.
The exploitative elements and annoying characters ruined this one.
In Her Skin - 3/5
Based on the true story of the brutal murder of a 15 year old Australian girl and told from 3 points of views (the victim, her parents & her murderer).
The murderer's point of view is the best one.

The Bay (2012)
Cool concept, but the found footage angle was so laughably bad. It reminded me of DIARY OF THE DEAD, which is a very bad thing. Some decent stuff, though. I just wish it had been an actual film.
Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid (1969)
Watching this is like hanging out with two old friends. It's a comfortable film. I could watch Redford & Newman go back and forth all day.
