Big Fish a movie worth owning on Blu-ray and DVD and I have both formats.
The ending always gets me.

Chaos Walking (2021) — It should first be noted I have never read (or even heard of) the novel this was based upon, so I don't have any preconceptions or expectations on how the adaptation was handled. With that out of the way, I found this to be... fine. A little messy in narrative and structure but I suppose moderately entertained. I also liked Tom Holland in the lead for the most part and Daisy Ridley grew on me though her character isn't very well developed. It's probably worthy of a rental but doubtful I'll revisit this very soon other than to listen to the commentary by Doug Liman considering the behind-the-scenes issues and major re-shoots. ***/*****

Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021) — Serviceable suspense-thriller has Angelina Jolie in her element. Has a little Cliffhanger vibe in terms of the main character and their past tragedies but still works for the most part. Nothing fantastic and not up to the standards from Taylor Sheridan yet still worth a watch. ***/*****

Magnum Force. Clint Eastwood is the violent cop Dirty Harry, who opposes extra-judicial murder by cops. Today the rogue cops would have Punisher decals on their vehicles. (Tubi)
Fiend Without a Face. Something is murdering villagers who live outside a new US Air Force Base in rural Canada. The first three quarters of the movie is pretty fun, but then they show the monsters which look stupid. Our hero saves the day by safely shutting down the atomic reactor -- he dynamites the control room! (Svengoolie)

Casualties of War (1989)
This was on the Sony movies channel months ago and I just watched my recording yesterday. It's currently on Starz
First time I ever watched it. This was a very unpleasant movie. It's about the brutal kidnap, graphic rape, torture and murder of a young Vietnamese girl by a group of American soldiers. Michael J. Fox plays a young PFC, who is part of the group and refuses to participate and witnesses it and then decides to do the right thing and report the crime even at the risk of his life and military career.
Very well acted and compelling, but I can't say I enjoyed the subject matter.

Justice Society World War II Warners Animation BD
The Flash goes back in time and helps form The Justice Society which includes Wonder Woman, Hour Man, and Superman.
Warner Animation is trying a simpler, stylized look for some of their films that can be a little divisive, but the use of color is quite impressive. The story is fine, but it's lack of connection to any of the other DC animated features sort of robs it of some narrative weight.
Perfect Friday Kino Lorber 1970
Repressed British Bank Officer Stanley Baker plots to rob his bank, with the help of frequently-nude femme fatale Ursula Andress and her shifty titled husband David Warner.
Dated but charming old school "Caper" film.

Maybe that was only really heavy movie Michael J.Fox did.

Netflix streaming
Ok it was not perfect but not that bad.
I would not mind living in that place if it was clean.

Michael J Fox also did Bright Lights, Big City and Light of Day, though Casualties of War was the heaviest. Of course, I don't think any of his non-Comedy leads were successful for him.

Casualties of War was a box office bomb from the stats I read. Even for 32 years ago, I think the subject matter was too heavy and unpleasant to attract a big audience.

Kurt Russell, Kathleen Quinlan 1999
A married couple are driving through the Southwest when their car breaks down. The wife hitches a ride with a trucker to get help and then disappears, leaving her husband frantic.
Excellent, very efficient Thriller that holds up very nicely. Nice assortment of special features. The film was originally intended as a re-boot of Stephen King's "Maximum Overdrive" but when that collapsed writer-director Jonathan Mostow had to come up with a film that could utilize the same core materials and settings.

Every Breath You Take (2021)
Rented this from Red Box. It's gotten mostly bad reviews, but I thought it was watchable & had some compelling parts. It's a psychological thriller with Casey Affleck and Michelle Monaghan. He plays a psychologist and she's his wife. One of his patients commits suicide and her brother shows up. Let's just say all hell breaks loose when he comes into their lives.

Just added to Hulu streaming which is cool since Netflix does not have it on Blu-ray and it has to been seen in HD and not SD.
This was not bad though maybe it could fit right in on the Hallmark Network rotation.
Solid jobs by Blunt, Dornan, Walken, and Hamm and not a huge Sinead O' Connor fan but her song in the closing credits was good.

In Search of Darkness Shudder
A 4 hour and 20 minute documentary about Horror films of The '80s, with commentary provided by the directors and stars of the films being discussed, as well as fans of the genre. While there are some general topics discussed, essentially the doc goes film-by-film in a random fashion with two-to-three minutes given to each film. The doc is aided by the use of specific clips from the films in most cases, as opposed to just a few moments from a trailer. I'd didn't learn anything new, but like a lot of fans I can visit this topic over and over again. Also, you get to see how well (or not) a lot of these celebrities have aged over the years.

Watched Accepted with my girlfriend on Sunday. Hadn’t ever seen it before, but it’s one that she liked from back in the day. Pretty fun, dumb comedy. So weird seeing Jonah Hill that young.

Some scenes with DiCaprio's girlfriend in her underwear (girl on the right) and Kyle Mooney from SNL is in it though don't need to see him in his underwear.
