On a Marvel kick after watching Iron Man 3 in theaters, so I watched Iron Man yesterday and Thor today on Blu-ray.

Re: Last movie you watched

John Schlesinger's Yanks with Richard Gere, William Devane, Vanessa Redgrave and Lisa Eichhorn. About American troops stationed in Britain, training in the lead up to Normandy and their relationships with the local women.

Great, great, great movie. Very deeply felt and sensitive "romantic" movie that even grizzled manly-men would probably like. Lisa Eichhorn is stunning in this. Probably one of Schlesinger's very best films and I had never heard of it. I have no idea why...as far as I am concerned this is up there with other great 70's films. It's available on netflix so I would recommend checking it out.

Fun & hilarious. Didn't overstay it's welcome. Love everything that Astron-6 puts out.

Silver Linings Playbook -- It was alright. The performances were awesome, but I was bored most of the time. It had a good ending, predictable but good

Jack Reacher.

Not a Tom Cruise fan, but this was decent. I'm glad it wasn't a mind numbing action film.

3/5

Iron Man 3 - interesting but a bit different. He spent so much time outside the suit this time. Plus Gwyneth got to be in it. She looks sexy in armor.

Pain & Gain - Not sure what I think. If it is true to life, that's messed up. The tone had a very odd balance.

A British communications expert helps the Americans spy on the Russians in Cold War Berlin.
Pretty bad film, especially considering the talent involved.

Stop there. The rest are pretty bad.

Jack Reacher I wanted an action film. Not what I expected, it was just OK.

Shaun of the Dead - 5/5 - still love it.
The Incredible Burt Wonderstone - 3 / 5 - I enjoyed it, but as a movie it seemed to be missing something.

The Master - 4.5/5

An alcoholic war veteran with PTSD and the leader of a cult-like organization strike an unusual friendship. A very divisive film that with the test of time will be acknowledged for it's greatness.
