Dazed and Confused, still a great movie. I graduated high school in 1973. This and Over the Edge really reminded me of the early 70s in junior high and high school. Those were different times.

Man-Trap (1961)
Film had a ton of great scenes in isolation, but ultimately managed to be less than the sum of its parts thanks to a deus ex machina ending that seemed to be hastily patched together out of a desire to end the film "morally" without exactly knowing how. Stella Stevens melts the screen while she chews the scenery though, so that was worth the blind buy alone.

I was just a few years behind you. Graduated in 77, so I remember those years with great fondness. I'll have to check that out.

Mean Streets - 5/5
The daily lives of small time Little Italy hoods. This along with Taxi Driver & Raging Bull are IMO Scorsese's trifecta of masterpieces.

Dogtooth - 4.5/5
A dysfunctional Greek family in which the three children are confined to their family's fenced in property. An original film that is brilliant & disturbing.

Renoir - on the Avalon Theater's new Christie DLP projector this movie looked utterly gorgeous (and Alexandre Desplat's score sounded airy and great as well). The movie was all around excellent.

A Good Day to Die Hard extended cut: worse than the theatrical cut.

Ruby Sparks - Much better than Little Miss Sunshine. I enjoyed it and thought Dano was great in it. Zoe was really good but she looks too much like Kristen Schaal that it disctracted me.

From Noon Till Three (1976)
Now this is how you do romantic comedy - with Bronson! This script was much more intelligent than I expected, and it twists and turns in many atypical ways. Elmer Bernstein provides a great score, and the chemistry between Bronson and Ireland was so natural for obvious reasons. I was rolling at some of the witty banter and clever scripting. This seriously needs a BD release.

The Barrens (2012)
Competently made psychological horror film from Darren Lynn Bousman. Nice blending of fact and fiction to tell the tale of the Jersey Devil. Plus, Mia Kirshner is always hot as hell and I've loved her since Dracula: The Series. Worth watching for fans of movies where guys slowly descend into madness.
Tokyo Drifter (1966)
I love Suzuki. His use of color and shot compositions are so artful and vibrant. This was his usual style, but I felt the script was a little too flimsy. Not a very compelling tale, and there are so many duplicitous characters that it's hard to remember who's supposed to be shooting who. Regardless, I still enjoyed it on a superficial level.
