Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

These were fun movies. Some humor, some adventure, some hot Patricia Valasquez and Rachel Weisz. Since I'm not big on the horror, the adventure angle was fine by me. Since I splurged on the 4K upgrade I have to make sure I watch these once in a while now and not wait another decade.

I've watched this film three times in the last month. Hoping to catch the 4K Restoration again in a few weeks.

I usually wait until the bad stuff starts happening before I get choked up. Last night I didn't. Always been a great movie for me.

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread
I'd planned on watching Halloween on the 30th, then Halloween II last night but discovered we had plenty of time to watch both on the 30th, it was kind of nice being able to watch 2 halves of the whole story in the same night, even though II wasn't as good as the original, it was still kind of nice.
This meant I had to choose a good movie for Halloween night, wanted to choose one that was at least near to needing to be watched in the rotation, decided on Trick or Treat. It was a good horror flick, unique in a way, different from other horror flicks, and it had good music by Fastway...

The Show (2017) — Really bad dark satire that slams you over the head with its message, but worse yet, tonally it was all over the place and the acting from Duhamel, Esposito (who also directed) and Janssen weren't very good. 0.5/5

Atomic Blonde (2017) — Satisfied and yet also unsatisfying action-thriller. Theron and McAvoy were good and the action/fight scenes were well choreographed, but pacing felt off. 3.0/5
The Emoji Movie (2017) — Corporate, vapid bullshit. Can't even say the animation looked good. 0/5

Why do they interrupt the music with interviews? They could do the talking parts before and after the songs and leave the music intact.

I watched the extended cut of Suicide Squad this morning. I didn't like it. There wasn't much of a fun factor in this at all. I just thought the movie was mostly gloomy and dour. The other members of the squad besides Harley didn't have any personality. The only thing I really like about the movie was Margot Robbie's performance. 2/5

Overdrive (2017) — Sure, it rips-off The Fast and the Furious franchise and Gone in 60 Seconds, but I'd be lying if I didn't say it was at least semi-entertaining with some solid stunt driving. Cast wise, though, they don't nearly have the charm of Vin Diesel... take that for what you will. 3.0/5

I watched King Arthur: Legend of the Sword this afternoon. I like it better than Suicide Squad that I watched earlier today. It has a few good action sequences, but I didn't like the choppy editing and the movie felt rather empty to me. It has a 126 min run time, but you don't really get to know any of the characters. 2.5/5

Thor - loved it. On the verge of being just a little too goofy, but they bring you back with some doom and gloom. Missed Natalie Portman because I love Natalie Portman, but this story didn't provide any opportunity for her and Kat Dennings. Nice little cameo from Dr. Strange.

Atomic Blonde. Second best movie of the year behind BR 2049.
Moody, atmospheric, great cinematography, interesting characters, gripping story, and a thumping 80's soundtrack.
