Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
Well Red letter Media did a follow up to their previous Bruce Willis video. They just touched on the rumors that are now confirmed about his health and how it led him to his B Movie output. I still think their previous Bruce Willis video is noteworthy in that they talked about the "Geezer Teasers" and the aging actors who have been reduced to doing B-movies. |
Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
According to his IMDB, Willis has 8 more movies coming out that are either completed or in post production.
|
Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
I only hope his decision to take part in so many crap cash-in movies was his, and he wasn't being pushed by handlers and the like.
|
Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
This really is sad news but also explains a lot of his output for the past few years. I've not watched the DTV stuff but will always fondly recall him in Moonlighting and his action movies like Armageddon, Die Hard etc. not to mention the Sixth Sense and other serious roles of that era.
It's funny I was listening to Sirus radio last night and they even played one of his songs off the album he released back in the 90s  |

So to me it looks that he started doing them for the easy paycheck and when he or is entourage realized he can't do anything else and just for a limited amount of time, they started crapping those movies out to bank on his name as long as possible. I still hope it was his decision to occupy his mind and to keep on doing what he loves. It would be terrible to find out, he was a puppet. |

We'll have to wait a whole year before we can hear Chris Rock make fun of Bruce Willis's condition at the Oscars.

Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
GMA piece from today about Willis and his condition. They talked to one of the directors of one of his recent movies and what he observed.

Re: Bruce Willis retires from acting. Has aphasia.
Die Hard
Pulp Fiction The Fifth Element Sin City Moonrise Kingdom At least those are the ones I come back to the most. I'd swap out Moonrise with Beavis and Butthead Do America when feeling nostalgic and The 6th Sense but, being a huge Wes Anderson fan, Moonrise makes for more repeat viewings (though not necessarily for Willis' performance) |
Re: Bruce Willis retires from acting. Has aphasia.

2. Pulp Fiction 3. 12 Monkees 4. The Sixth Sense 5. Unbreakable 6. The 5th Element 7. Red 8. Die Hard 2 9. Die Hard With A Vengence 10. Armageddon |

My first thought upon hearing the news, after wishing the best for Bruce and his family, was whether his condition contributed to the tension on that Cop Out set. It never really sat right with me as Kevin Smith always seems to be a mellow kind of guy in the interviews that I have seen and seems to get along with everyone.

I think he started to decline a few years ago... around 2015 when he left a Woody Allen film. |

Yea, the aphasia didn't cause him to have a massive ego and get kicked off The Expendables.

Willis sustained a head injury on the set of Tears of the Sun in 2002. One of Smith's complaints about Willis on Cop Out was that he refused to memorize his lines. I think there's a possibility that he started declining after the injury, but things didn't become untenable until 2015 or so. I don't think he'd have been the first person to develop dickish behavior to compensate for diminished capabilities. I have no idea if it's true, but it's not a difficult narrative to believe.

Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
I never saw the original show, but for a long time I was always amused by some of the clips on YT from Comedy Central's roast of Willis in 2018. Less so these days, of course, but it's interesting to watch Ed Norton's bit now and not wonder if he was unwittingly calling out some of Willis's issues before they were public.

Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
A Tubi original...
CORRECTIVE MEASURES takes place at San Tiburon, an Ubermax prison hidden in the Great Northwest, resided by monsters, cyborgs and supervillains, all equipped with 24-hour power inhibitors and shock-collars. The overseer, Warden Devlin (Michael Rooker, “Suicide Squad”) is as corrupt as his charges. His sole interest is in getting his hands on Julius Loeb’s (Bruce Willis, “Die Hard”) untraceable fortune. But Julius Lobe, AKA “The Lobe,” is the most notorious prisoner, and a super genius who may not be so willing to part with his riches. The already fragile peace of the prison descends into chaos with the arrival of Payback (Dan Payne, “Watchmen”), a murderous vigilante with red intentions, and Diego Diaz (Brennan Mejia, “Power Rangers”), a driver on a trumped-up sentence. As tensions between the inmates and staff heighten, “The Conductor” (Tom Cavanagh, “The Flash”) sends shocks through the prison system and order is officially turned upside down. CORRECTIVE MEASURES is the story of an everyman’s journey into darkness. The film also stars Kat Ruston (“The 100”), Kevin Zegers (“Rebel”), and Hayley Sales (“Deadpool 2”). |
Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
So has anyone here watched some of Bruce Willis’s b movies? The Red Letter Media videos have made me curious to watch a few of them even they said they suck.
|
Re: The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
I've watched a bunch of them. They're bad but not entertainingly bad but more on the boring side.
