The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread
Trailer:
Synopsis: After witnessing the brutal murders of a convenient store owner and his son; firefighter, Jeremy Coleman (Josh Duhamel) nearly escapes with his life. As he is forced to testify against the crime lord, Hagan (Vincent D'Onofrio), he is placed in the witness protection program under the watch of the U.S. Marshalls. As his new identity becomes compromised Jeremy is forced to take an unexpected course of action in order to get is life back and save the lives of those he loves. Starring: Josh Duhamel Bruce Willis Rosario Dawson Vincent D'Onofrio James Lesure Richard Schiff Vinnie Jones Julian McMahon Quinton "Rampage" Jackson Saw this last night and it was surprisingly pretty good. Lots of action, some really brutal kills. Pretty decent cast too. Duhamel is the star of this movie and I actually liked him here. He was believable and showed alot of vulnerability. He also had good chemistry with Rosario Dawson. Bruce Willis was more in a supporting role here. He played a detective with the Long Beach Police department. He showed some snarkiness. D'Onofrio was good as the main villain. It was a pretty fast paced 97 minute action movie. Most importantly, this was a reunion of Danny McCoy and Mike Cannon from Las Vegas. :D |
re: The One & Only BRUCE WILLIS Sleepwalks Through Movies Thread: A Direct to Video Release
a friend of mine was an extra in this. Said Duhamel was a really nice guy
Not sure if I'll see the film but...if I hear more good word on it...I'll give it a try. |
re: The One & Only BRUCE WILLIS Sleepwalks Through Movies Thread: A Direct to Video Release
Looks cool and I like the cast. I'll rent it.

wait what? Totally missed that part where it was on BD/DVD at the end of that trailer. Weird. Why didn't it come out in theaters?
|
re: The One & Only BRUCE WILLIS Sleepwalks Through Movies Thread: A Direct to Video Release
The synopsis says he "nearly escapes with his life"...so is he a ghost in this?
|
re: The One & Only BRUCE WILLIS Sleepwalks Through Movies Thread: A Direct to Video Release
Bump
FYI, This was posted today on Netflix for anyone who is interested. Don't be turned off by the fact that it's a straight to video movie. It's actually a pretty good action thriller with decent production value. Bruce Willis has more of a supporting role in this. |

re: The One & Only BRUCE WILLIS Sleepwalks Through Movies Thread: A Direct to Video Release
I reviewed this when it first came out. It's not amazing, but it's better than a direct to video movie should be. The thing I liked most about it is that Duhamel's character isn't some trained killer. Every time he goes after someone, he almost fucks it up, and he's not desensitized to the violence. A nice character choice.

re: The One & Only BRUCE WILLIS Sleepwalks Through Movies Thread: A Direct to Video Release
Pretty good action/revenge flick. Not surprised that it didn't get a theatrical release though.
Duhamel was a capable lead, Willis didn't have much to do except stand around and look concerned. On the other hand, D'Onofrio totally chewed up the scenery as the evil villain. I'm not sure what accent he was going for, maybe Cajun, but he was the most memorable part of the movie. |
re: The One & Only BRUCE WILLIS Sleepwalks Through Movies Thread: A Direct to Video Release
Glad to hear some positive buzz on this one. I got sent a review copy on BD last week, and I was wondering what I'd be in store for.

re: The One & Only BRUCE WILLIS Sleepwalks Through Movies Thread: A Direct to Video Release
This is on Netflix streaming. Sounds fun, I'll check it out.

re: The One & Only BRUCE WILLIS Sleepwalks Through Movies Thread: A Direct to Video Release
Watched it this morning. Totally recommend it. It's cool the type of suspense that comes with the hero fumbling his way through his objectives. Dumahel was a good lead and fun to to watch struggle through his challenges. D'onofrio was a trashy villain, and interesting to watch.
Enjoyed watching this. |
re: The One & Only BRUCE WILLIS Sleepwalks Through Movies Thread: A Direct to Video Release
This movie was horribly directed and edited. I can't believe the leeway it's getting here on DVDTalk. There's a reason it went DTV. This movie just isn't very good.

Marauders (2016) -- S: Christopher Meloni, Bruce Willis
http://cdn2-www.comingsoon.net/asset...l-poster-2.jpg
When an untraceable group of elite bank robbers execute the perfect heist making off with millions in cash and leaving a dead bank manager in their wake, the FBI Agents investigating the robbery/homicide (Christopher Meloni, Dave Bautista and Adrian Grenier) begin to uncover signs of corruption involving the bank’s owner (Bruce Willis) and his high power clients. As they dig deeper into the case, the Feds realize that things are not what they seem, and in order to untangle a complicated web of deception and corruption they must push themselves to the brink – where the lines between right and wrong are often times blurred. Anyone heard of this movie? Just watched it today and actually really quite enjoyed it. Christopher Meloni is the lead and I thought he was awesome in this. Great intensity and loved his scenes with Willis. Plot is a little convoluted, but the action and Meloni made up for it. I liked this better than a similar themed movie Triple 9, which came out last year. |
Re: Marauders (2016) -- S: Christopher Meloni, Bruce Willis
A new Bruce Willis action movie used to be something of an event. Now, it's like, "What the fuck is that movie? When the fuck did that come out? Why the fuck is Bruce in this?"
I'll check it out if I can, though. |
Re: Marauders (2016) -- S: Christopher Meloni, Bruce Willis
Looks like another straight to video Bruce Willis glorified cameo masterpiece.
|
Re: Marauders (2016) -- S: Christopher Meloni, Bruce Willis
The director is a local guy, my buddy knew him back in the day so everybody here is mildly supportive of his endeavors.
This was his least terrible movie so far. |

Reading the summary, it sounds just like Inside Man.

Re: Marauders (2016) -- S: Christopher Meloni, Bruce Willis
My bad, select theaters (where it made a whopping 57K) and VOD.

Re: Marauders (2016) -- S: Christopher Meloni, Bruce Willis
I saw this a month or so back. Not terrible mainly because Christopher Meloni delivered but otherwise, not great. And it is basically a cameo by Willis, wouldn't surprise me if he spent only one day filming.

This didn't look half bad, then I saw VOD in post. Too bad, looks kinda fun. Keanu mixed with Red. Hope it gets some decent reviews and I'll probably rent...

So far, 21% on RT https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/onc...ime_in_venice/ Currently available on demand and in very limited theatrical release. Bruce Willis will star in pretty much anything that pays these days. But, I'm surprised the stars they got, including Goodman. at Momoa's ridiculous character in the trailer. Famke Janssen actually appeared on The Today Show recently to promote this movie. So they must have had some money for advertising. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/OyHX-ia_OkU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Re: Once Upon a Time in Venice (2017) S: Willis, Momoa, Goodman, Janssen, Middleditch
Ah...seems like only a decade ago he made a movie that I saw in the theater.

still looks kinda fun.

Re: Once Upon a Time in Venice (2017) S: Willis, Momoa, Goodman, Janssen, Middleditch
Famke is still fuckable for being 53? Yes, she's had some work done, but still. Man, they really are trying to milk the John Wick angle, huh.
 :hump: |
Re: Once Upon a Time in Venice (2017) S: Willis, Momoa, Goodman, Janssen, Middleditch
I dunno. She looks good, but she's barely threading the needle of too much botox. Its right on the borderline.

Reprisal (2018) -- S: Bruce Willis, Frank Grillo
Jacob (Frank Grillo), a bank manager haunted by a violent heist that took the life of a coworker, teams up with his ex-cop neighbor, James (Bruce Willis), to bring down the assailant. While the two men work together to figure out the thief’s next move, Gabriel (Johnathon Schaech), the highly-trained criminal, is one step ahead. When Gabriel kidnaps Jacob’s wife (Olivia Culpo) and daughter, Jacob barrels down a path of bloodshed that initiates an explosive counterattack and brings all three men to the breaking point. Action legend Bruce Willis (the Die Hard series), Frank Grillo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, TV’s Kingdom) and Johnathon Schaech (TV’s Legends of Tomorrow) team up in the tense dramatic thriller REPRISAL. The film will be released in theaters and on demand by Lionsgate Premiere on August 31st, 2018. |

Re: Reprisal (2018) -- S: Bruce Willis, Frank Grillo
Seems like another one where a limited role by Willis is being falsely blown into a co-lead on the posters and marketing. There's patio Bruce, house/office Bruce and what appears to be one sequence with shooting-guns-outside Bruce. :)

Re: Reprisal (2018) -- S: Bruce Willis, Frank Grillo
Grillo? Douche
|
Re: Reprisal (2018) -- S: Bruce Willis, Frank Grillo
Reprisal: as perfunctory as it gets:
https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/re...prisal-1138296 If Bruce Willis isn't careful, he may soon be hit by a class-action lawsuit. The legal action will be started by disgruntled moviegoers paying good money in theaters and through VOD to see his latest vehicle, only to be chagrined when they discover the Die Hard star going through the motions. That is, when Willis shows up at all, since despite his star billing the actor's appearances are often little more than gloried cameos. Another couple dozen of these movies and he'll be co-starring with Seagal if he's not careful. |
Re: Reprisal (2018) -- S: Bruce Willis, Frank Grillo
I rented this off the Google Play store for $2 today and watched it.
Pretty standard Lionsgate Premiere straight to video action release. Not God awful, but watchable. Grillo is really the star of this movie. Willis has a small supporting part. He plays Grillo's neighbor who is also a former cop and ends up helping him. There's some shootouts and action, but the shootouts are so poorly directed. The Cincinnati cops are so incompetent with how they handle shootouts and end up needlessly getting killed by only 1 assailant. Grillo is just a bank manager and he ends up doing the work of an experience detective/FBI agent to track down the assailant who robbed his branch and killed the security guard. The ending is very silly. I'd give this between a C and C+ |
10 Minutes Gone (2019) -- S: Michael Chiklis, Bruce Willis
Action legends Bruce Willis (Die Hard) and Michael Chiklis ("The Shield") light up this edge of your seat thriller. Crime boss Rex (Willis) hires Frank (Chiklis) and his crew to steal a priceless jewel stash—but the job goes wrong when someone tips off the cops. After Frank suffers a blow to the head, he wakes up to find the jewels gone and no memory of his attacker. Now Frank must confront his team members one by one to find the traitor—before Rex covers his tracks by having Frank murdered. |
