I still think there's no need for it. It's a funny way of honoring Bruce Willis. The Razzies aren't a serious Award. If he wasn't the icon he is, they would have given him his own category. Like said before. Michael Madsen or Eric Roberts don't get their own category, since they aren't the icon Bruce Willis is and always will be. The Razzies isn't mean spirited they celebrate obscur and bad movies, that's all. It's mean to assume otherwise.

Willis never did on camera interviews for any of the DTV movies he worked on from the ones I saw.

Looking at his whole career is impressive. He had quite a few stinkers, but Die Hard, 12 Monkeys, The Sixth Sense, Pulp Fiction and The Whole Nine Yards do not only show the range in genre, but will stand the test of time.

Sad to hear about his condition, he's provided me with a lot of entertainment over the years.

And the Razzies had the fucking nerve to tweet this.

While it wasn't one of his more highly-regarded movies, I've always enjoyed Blind Date. He wasn't killing anyone or blowing shit up. But I would chuckle through the movie. Hudson Hawk is on Netflix, as per JustWatch.

Sunday was the 35th anniversary of Blind Date. Watched it again and he's still hilarious in it.

In '94-'95, he did Pulp Fiction, North, Color of Night, Nobody's Fool, Die Hard: With a Vengeance, Four Rooms, & Twelve Monkeys. It's just a crazy assortment of differently budgeted films in all of those different genres. Sure, they didn't all work, but what a two year span. Bruce was awesome.

Of course, I'll still always think of Moonlighting first. He was a revelation in that.

Maybe this thread should be renamed simply "The One and Only Bruce Willis Thread" Just keep it simple and we can talk about his career instead of shit on his DTV movies.

The memory loss/cognitive issues have been a rumor for awhile. I’m sad to see it turned out to actually be the case.

Like many of you, I grew up in the 80s and 90s with Bruce as THE action star. I always preferred his action movies over Arnie or Sly because Bruce played the every man caught in those situations instead of a ‘roided out killing machine that Arnold and Sly typically were.

Bruce was my favorite actor in the early 90s. The first three Die Hard movies, The Last Boy Scout, Pulp Fiction, Death Becomes Her, 12 Monkeys, The Fifth Element, Armageddon, The Sixth Sense, and Unbreakable have all gotten numerous watches in my house over the years. Die Hard is one of my top 10 favorite movies and my #1 action movie ever.

I even got a thrill from his Die Hard car battery commercial a couple years ago.

Very sad news indeed. Willis has always been one of my all-time favorite actors. I even enjoyed this song. It was all over the radio in the 80's.

Death Wish, 4 years ago this month, was one of his last big Hollywood movies. If anyone could replace Bronson it was Willis. I almost jumped out of my chair in the theater, when he so casually blasted this dude.

12 Monkeys is a movie I saw at the theater (by myself) on release on a cold Saturday afternoon and it still remains not only one of my favorite theater going experiences but all time favorite movies. I watch it every year (mainly in winter because it is a Christmas movie after all ) Bruce is so terrific in it. It never fails to get me how tragic and romantic that film is and Bruce hits all the notes perfectly.

I'll admit that I also saw Armageddon (by myself) at the theater and maybe it was my mood at the time or the fact I'd seen Bruce be the hero who always made it out alive but the ending and his sacrifice just turned me into a blubbering mess. I know its corny as hell but I had a blast watching that movie and he made it a big reason I enjoyed it so much.

Unbreakable - man talk about a movie ahead of its time. Back when superhero movies were considered played out just around the time or before X-Men hit big. Here was a movie that presented a grounded take on the genre and Bruce just nailed it. He brought a quiet reluctant heroism that was as inspiring as any super-powered hero in spandex. Love that film to this day.

So sad to hear this. That first season of Moonlighting was such a revelation. Newsweek did a cover story and I wrote a fan letter to the editor about how much I loved the show, and it was published, which thrilled me. I went to his first movie in theaters the weekend it opened (Blind Date). Saw Die Hard right when it came out. Counted the days from Cannes until that October Friday when Pulp Fiction came out and fell in love all over again.
Haven't really enjoyed him in anything since Moonrise Kingdom and Looper, but man I loved a lot of his roles.

The 1st post of this thread is his DTV movie from 2012 called "Fire with Fire" He has a supporting role and it stars Josh Duhamel and Rosario Dawson. it's actually not a bad movie for a DTV film.

Apparently his memory issues got worse when he made the movie American Siege recently.

Aphasia is, I believe, caused by another condition like head injury, stroke, or degenerative brain disease like dementia or Alzheimers. It isn't something you just develop without a cause.

Has it been mentioned how he came down with aphasia?

There's an article in the L.A. Times detailing his problems with lines going back to 2020 and it sounds like he was already in severe decline at that point. It confirms the rumor of his lines being fed through an earpiece. I think the family may have had their hand forced with this article coming out but it was inevitable and for the best given his condition. It's really sad to read and makes me wonder if during these last few years who was really guiding his career and whether certain people were exploiting him for their own benefit.
