Re: A Good Day To Die Hard
So from the director of Max Payne and the writer of Hitman and Wolverine. This really has no shot of being good right?
I hope it pulls some cash or I'm afraid R rated action may be dead after Dredd, Last Stand and Bullet to the Head all flopped and Hansel and Gretel, Broken City, Parker and Gangster Squad all under-performed. |

Last I read, Hansel and Gretel is doing solid numbers oversees. So much so that it might get a sequel.

All quiet on the early buzz / review front... is this being screened? |

I think the fact that the yellow tape says "Die Hard" on it indicates that it's promotional.

Thanks for the clarification. Although I'm not sure why the word "fuck" every other sentence and blood everywhere is going to make the film any better.

Re: A Good Day To Die Hard
wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being a 'soft R'. enough 'fucks' and bullet holes to get the rating but not a hard R like Dredd or The Last Stand

Re: A Good Day To Die Hard
Havent decided if i want to do the marathon tomorrow or not. $20 bucks with my Regal Crown Club

Re: A Good Day To Die Hard
/\ It's a good deal, but I am starting to think that this 5th film would probably work better outside of the prism of the first few.

A Good Day to Die Hard is the shortest entry in the series by almost half an hour, but still manages to do more damage to the Die Hard property in 97 minutes than anything else in its 25-year history. Dumb, crass and tedious when its predecessors were smart, witty and entertaining, A Good Day to Die Hard is far and away the worst of the five films, and even with its R rating restored, struggles to entertain as a piece of disposable action entertainment on even the basest of levels. The film isn't just bad, it's embarrassing |
Re: A Good Day To Die Hard
Okay. So I was watching Live Free or Die Hard last night.
I still can't understand what that spiral highway ramp thing is at the end. During the trucker vs fighter jet scene. Does a highway or on/off ramp like that really exist? Or is it some weird fever dream setting? |

I say L.A., because they shot tons of scenes in L.A. for the film. That car crashing into the helicopter was right here. |

Re: A Good Day To Die Hard
First bad review - CAN'T be a good sign.
It'll have a good opening weekend, but terrible word of mouth. |
Re: A Good Day To Die Hard
I knew the lack of a single review on RT just 2 days before was a BAD sign. Usually you get 5 or 10 early reviews & I really don't pay attention to them since action films don't usually review that well. BUT when even Fox doesn't allow anybody to see a movie until the opening they usually realize it is so bad that they just want as much as possible on opening weekend before it drops 90%.

Re: A Good Day To Die Hard
I never take reviews for films like this very seriously personally. It's an action movie sequel, I don't really expect great reviews and I think anyone who's seen a Die Hard film should basically know what to expect going in.

Re: A Good Day To Die Hard
My thoughts exactly.

Re: A Good Day To Die Hard
:D Plus, I'm seeing it for free with the $10 movie cash I got from buying the Die Hard 25th Anniversary BD set during the BB U&S promotion. So I can't beat that.
It's just good to see Willis playing McClane again, especially in a R rated Die Hard. |

 If you're a fan of the franchise, then I don't know why you would be hesitant to see it. I'm a fan of the Die Hard franchise, including Live free or Die Hard. I'm going to see it and make my own assessment. Not going to let some Internet blogger or NY Times film critic make the choices for me. |
