Re: ...and John McClane's son is... (Die Hard 5 talk)

I wouldn't call them "in real time" by any stretch, as each one takes place over the course of a night/day...but the point remains I suppose.

LFoDH was so awful, and wasn't even like a Die Hard film. I am not looking forward to another one.

Re: ...and John McClane's son is... (Die Hard 5 talk)

True, it's over the course of a day at most, but the point is that it's a compressed time period, and not a saga that spans generations of the McClane clan. We're only going to get a few lines here and there about his family.

I thought the last one sucked. I'm not anticipating this one and it will probably be bad but I'll see it no matter what.

Ben Stiller's spoof seems to actually be coming true.

Looking at the picture I get the idea that the son is a cop, could be a rookie.

And they argue. About everything. The parents seperation, him not being there. blah blah blah.

It gets boring for the rest of us.

From Deadline:

EXCLUSIVE: Cole Hauser has landed a pivotal supporting role in A Good Day To Die Hard, the fifth installment of the 20th Century Fox series that began with the 1988 action classic Die Hard, which hatched Bruce Willis’ indestructible John McClane character. John Moore is directing and they’re shooting in Russia, with Jai Courtney playing McClane’s son. Hauser will play a villain named Collins. It is the third time Hauser has been in a film with Willis; they previously worked together in Tears Of The Sun and Hart’s War. Hauser’s repped by APA.

Can a mod change the title to "A Good Day to Die Hard"?

Listen, young man. Back in my day, they used to make things, big heavy things. Die Hard has always had awesome, clunky names. Your generation would call it DH5.

Die Hard
Die Hard 2: Die Harder
Die Hard With a Vengeance
Live Free or Die Hard
A Good Day to Die Hard

Now get off my lawn.

I just want to say the Ben Stiller Show was seriously underrated.

The title's been known for a while now. And I really don't give a crap what they call it. I just wanna know when we're getting a fifth verse.

I love all the Die Hard movies, so a new one is always welcome as far as I'm concerned.

While I thought that Live Free was the weakest of the bunch I'd still give it a, "B." Something tells me that this will be the last one, though. But if Willis is up for another after this and he's still physically able to pull it off I say bring on Die Hard 6!

My interest in this one is only marginal as the 4th one was pretty sucky. But hopefully this film will mean Fox gives us a nice 25th Anniversary BD of the original.

islandclaws 05-08-12 08:22 PM

Re: A Good Day To Die Hard

I thought the 4th one was crap - boring plot, weak villain, totally neutered.

I'm not holding out much hope for this one, as the Russian setting doesn't thrill me, but I'm willing to give it a shot since Willis is always fun to watch.

Valentines Day 2013?

What guy is gonna get his S.O. To go with him on that night?

I don't care what anyone says, the last one was a great action movie.

Exactly how I feel.

This.

I'm gonna get a lot of hate for this, but i thought DH 3 was better than 1 and 2. Having John Mcclane running around new york city stopping bombs with Sam Jackson was more entertaining and thrilling than him being stuck in a building or Airport.

Re: A Good Day To Die Hard

I still think Die Hardest would be the best title. I didn't really disagree with the director's latest comments about it either. As long as it's a solid action film (which I thought the last one was) I'm happy. It'd be nice to see a few nods to the previous films...but we'll see.

Only thing I didn't like was that they made Willis bald. He looked like a different actor playing McClane.

I think wm lopez is referring to McClane's shaved bald head. wm lopez prefers his McClane balding but not full shaved bald.

Re: A Good Day To Die Hard

Die Hard 3 is way better than Die Hard 2. Die Hard 2 is embarrassing. Live Free or Die Hard was better than Die Hard 2.
