I'm not sure I can handle all that in a movie theater. Oddly enough, depending on how crazy it can get...it may very much be something like the trashy Mexican films I grew up on. Man... Those films were over the fucking top. I still remember seeing some punk gang breaking into a house and they were crazy violent. I think they cut off a guy's nose with a pair of scissors in that movie. That shit was shown on Univisión in the early 90s. I think I was like 4 or 5 when I saw that film.

Did the Almada Brothers come to the rescue? I used watch those as a kid, too. They were like the Mexican version(s) of Charles Bronson. Hell, they even starred in a film called .357 Magnum.

Mario Almada was my favorite of the two. The man rocked the Mexican mustache. Also a nice grumble in his voice.

Thats exactly what the machete gag, catching and throwing it back, reminded me of!

Oh boy, time to show this to mi abuelo. He's gonna be stoked.

I know the recent rise of grindhouse films haven't been the greatest but I absolutely love Planet Terror and Death Proof and that Machete Kills trailer (short as it was) looked fantastic. Didn't like the first one though, was really disappointed with it.

Machete being hung in his downtime

Same here, I thought the message was a bit heavy handed and it focused to much on the supporting characters.
Mr. Rodriguez should take pointers from Black Dynamite which although a comedy, gets the grindhouse atmosphere much better that Machete.

Fuck that. Black Dynamite sucked a high, hard one. Shit was done a decade before.
