Okay, perverts. RR is her Godfather. He actually walked her down the aisle on her wedding day. She married some 40 year old producer at the tender age of 20.

Didn't Morgan Freeman marry his niece or something like that? I am pretty sure any type of boundaries like that don't exist in Hollywoodland so maybe he still is tapping it.

Re: Machete Kills - Robert Rodriguez, Danny Trejo
‘Machete Kills’ Is In Trouble: Producers Threaten To Kill The Sequel Uh oh. Robert Rodriguez’s Machete Kills is in some serious trouble. The producers of the film have taken action against the filmmaker’s production company, and are looking to kill the film. The Overnight Production producers, who also happen to own Robert Rodriguez’s Machete sequel, have filed a $2 million lawsuit against the filmmaker’s production company, Quick Draw Productions. Overnight is claiming that they were not provided with Texas’ tax credit information as was required under their agreement with Quick Draw. If the Overnight producers get their way, they could stop the release of the film, which Open Road has already acquired for distribution. Overnight also claims that Quick Draw failed and refused to provide the required budget information to them, and thus they were unable to determine the producer fee with respect to the sequel. You can read the full lawsuit here. Machete Kills brings back Danny Trejo as the titular ex-federale and follows him as he gets recruited by the U.S. government to take down a cartel leader and stop an arms dealer from launching a deadly missile. The film also stars Mel Gibson, Jessica Alba, Sofia Vergara, Lady GaGa, Vanessa Hudgens, Charlie Sheen, Michelle Rodriguez, Amber Heard, Alexa Vega, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Demian Bichir. The film is expected to hit theaters in 2013. SOURCE: Deadline |

Oh, so it's nothing.

Re: Machete Kills - Robert Rodriguez, Danny Trejo
Anybody hear anything more about the lawsuit?

Here's more:
Machete Kills finds the titular hero (Danny Trejo) teaming up with the U.S. government to stop a crazed arms deler (Mel Gibson) who wishes to send a weapon into space. Michelle Rodriguez and Jessica Alba will return to play their roles from the previous films while new additions include Amber Heard, Sofia Vergara, Charlie Sheen, Alexa Vega, Vanessa Hudgens, Demian Bichir and Lady Gaga. |

I have zero interest in seeing this. Machete was a typical Rodriguez cluster fuck and preachy as hell. I have no plans to see this movie any time soon.

Re: Machete Kills - Robert Rodriguez, Danny Trejo
Preachy? About what? It was pretty much a exploitation film w/ Mexicans.

It was all immigration this and immigration that. No thanks.
It's not like it had a message. If you read that, you lost the whole point of the film. Which is that it's...an exploitation film about Mexicans and that Mexicans now have Danny Trejo as their exploitation hero. |

Well what else would you make an Exploitation film with Mexicans about? The moment Rodriguez said exploitation and mexican...we all knew where it was going to go. Could it have been better? Sure. But I sure as fuck had a lot of fun w/ it.

Re: Machete Kills - Robert Rodriguez, Danny Trejo
The film preaches nothing.
|
Re: Machete Kills - Robert Rodriguez, Danny Trejo
The "border crossed us" speech was a tiny bit preachy and stupid.
I hope there's more of Machete in Kills, that's my only complaint about the first one. |

You're telling me it meant what it said? That's preposterous.

Re: Machete Kills - Robert Rodriguez, Danny Trejo
Of course Machete was message-heavy. But no more so than Coffy or Sweet Sweetback. The villains are still rich white men who are getting richer off the dark-skinned good people. The cover story has simply changed from "intellectually inferior and having criminal tendencies" to "stealing our jobs and having anchor babies". One difference is that Machete also shows the all-white working-class militiamen are just as exploited by the rich white guys.
