Re: Resident Evil: Retribution
I'm sure I'd watch this on HBO HD on a boring day, but I'm still trying to get the foul taste of the last entry out of my mouth.
|
Re: Resident Evil: Retribution
I really liked 1 and 3. Tolerated 2 and hated 4.
|
Re: Resident Evil: Retribution
I liked the first 3, haven't seen the 4th yet (still waiting for it to get down to my kind of price) but I'll own it just the same. I'm hoping this one is the last in the series, I'm tired of watching one of these only to have it left wide open for yet another sequel. I want to see Retribution (probably own it eventually) but I want to see either Alice & friends or Umbrella & the undead win (rather see Alice & friends win).....period. Conclude the story already.
I hope Retribution is good. -kd5- |
Re: Resident Evil: Retribution
I was wondering how old Milla Jovavich is and was shocked that she's still only 35--will be 36 in December. I know she started in the entertainment business at a very young age but she's been around forever. I would have guessed she was in her 40's by now. I was gonna ask how much longer she would be good in these sexy action roles. She's still super hot but something just seems off about a 40 year old female action star. But like I said she's only 35.
There's just something about her. The only role I don't think she looks particularly attractive in is The Fifth Element. I think it's the hair and the outfit. Looks like she's wearing a diaper. Any other time I see her, she just drives me wild. |
Re: Resident Evil: Retribution
After trashing the first two so much, I can't believe that I'm anxiously awaiting this. I thought the 3rd one was fantastic and got me hooked.
This is a must see in theaters. I think it has something to do with the cliffhanger, serial-like structure. I enjoy seeing the ultra-progressive technology-fantasy stuff. That darn Umbrella is always one step ahead. |
Re: Resident Evil: Retribution
I think they've all been about the same quality for me, looking forward to another. I couldn't put any faces to the names of a lot of those actors though, so I had to look up who was coming "back"

Re: Resident Evil: Retribution
No no no no....Apocalypse was horrendous. I've never wanted to leave a theater ever till I faced that movie. And then..Ultraviolet as well.
|
Re: Resident Evil: Retribution
Apocapyse was really bad (although the Jill Valentine scenes before Alice shows up were fun). Extinction was great. Afterlife was trashy fun but I hated every line reading from the guy playing Wesker. I hope he's either recast or the character is totally MIA. I'm totally down for Retribution.
BTW Johann Urb is Leon S. Kennedy: http://www.mostbeautifulman.com/acto...ages/pic02.jpg Kevin Durand is Barry Burton: http://images.wikia.com/lostpedia/im...evinDurand.jpg Li Bingbing is Ada Wong: http://yeinjee.com/wp-content/upload...19-hotspot.jpg |
Re: Resident Evil: Retribution
I'm a diehard fan of the videogame franchise so I always get suckered into seeing these terrible movies. Even the first one which alot of people deem good was mediocre at best (and definitely the best of the 4 so far)
|
Re: Resident Evil: Retribution
All four are bad movies for sure, but I'll admit that I did enjoy them all so I'm in for a 5th.
|
Re: Resident Evil: Retribution
I know this sounds stupid but Kevin Durand being in this makes me want toi see it. I just think he's an enjoyable actor to see.
|
Re: Resident Evil: Retribution
I've loved/liked all in the series and I LOVE Milla as an action star no matter what....I'm in for 5

Re: Resident Evil: Retribution
So how are they bringing back Michelle Rodriguez when she was killed in the first movie?

Re: Resident Evil: Retribution
Hopefully Milla will be making a return to the audio commentary as well, the ones with her for 1&2 were really fun but the the ones without her for 3&4 were boring.

Re: Resident Evil: Retribution
The only complaint I had about the 4th was that it was in 3D and set up a Milla shower scene that it didn't deliver. I hope they address that issue in this one.

Re5ident? Ughhh...

Re: Resident Evil: Retribution
ReFiveident Evil sounds awesome!

Re: Resident Evil: Retribution
Updated: Sony reps inform us the "5" will NOT be part of the title after all.
|
Re: Resident Evil: Retribution
I like David Fincher's work, but if I ever meet him I'm going to punch him in the nuts for introducing the whole "number for letter" fad in movie titles.

Re: Resident Evil: Retribution
OH it looks go gloriously silly and ridiculous and hopefully it'll be fun. None of these are very good but I cant help but sorta enjoy 'em. Mostly because of Milla of course. Anyone else stared in this and I would probably bail but goddammit I find her so beautiful and fascinating to watch.
Decent trailer though. Some silliness of course but some cool lookin scenes. I like the suburban scenes . Looks kinda interesting. Will see this on 2D ONLY! |
Re: Resident Evil: Retribution
That looks like fun.
Liked the flying beasties and am intruiged by the Alice-in-what-I-can-only-call-June-Cleaver-mode sequence. |
Re: Resident Evil: Retribution
Looking forward to it; I'm just impressed that they've been able to make so many sequels in what is a moderately successful franchise, and keep up the existing story. Fun stuff.

Re: Resident Evil: Retribution
Looks good to me.
|
Re: Resident Evil: Retribution
Fuck, that actually does look good.
Of course, it'd be real hard to be as bad as 4 was. |
Re: Resident Evil: Retribution
I'm in for Retribution but I don't care (not even a little bit) about the 3D, just give it to me in 2D like usual please, thankyouverymuch... -kd5-
|
Re: Resident Evil: Retribution
Bring it on. Can't believe how little I liked the first, how low and silly and eye-rolling the second one was, and how much I love these movies now.
|
Re: Resident Evil: Retribution
I really like these movies so I'm down for next one. I actually liked 4.
|
Re: Resident Evil: Retribution
Oh man that looks awesome!
The chick running in the red dress looks fucking bad! |
Re: Resident Evil: Retribution
And anyone know where the plot is headed? From the trailer, I'm guessing that there is an alliance against Umbrella and they're also fending off monsters.
I thought it during #4, and will now enjoy #5. But I'm ready for some definitive resolution. How many large scale doomsday sequels do that anyways? I don't really want to see another cliffhanger, or some ambiguous ride into the sunset. I want to see Umbrella and monsters dead and gone. One entertaining bit about these movies is how overwhelming and advanced Umbrella operates. Umbrella's motives and operations are just as nightmarish as the zombies and monsters. |
