Finally! The Cuban remake of Shaun of the Dead we've all been waiting for!
I will admit that it looks funny but, despite a different setting, it's been done.

Re: Juan of the Dead
It had way too many issues. I feel too lazy to explain myself so I'll just copy/paste my thoughts from the [REC]2 thread:
I know where you're coming from but there were a lot of clues at the end of the first movie (as well as early in this one) that it was
I love that they went the continuity route but they failed to do anything interesting with it. It also doesn't help that all the characters mostly blur together. In [REC] all the characters felt distinct and real. Here they just all felt the same and more like props for set pieces than actual people.
Well that was a disappointment. I didn't feel any tension with the first group. Hated the second group. The ending was contrived as hell. In fact, the second film relies too heavily on contrivances. A shame since I loved [REC] and was looking forward to seeing a trilogy. [REC] 2 killed any interest I had for [REC] 3.
Yup. That looks like where it's going. But it was a rather lazy twist and didn't really jive with everything else. To be honest, it felt like they were making it up as they went along with no real logic to hold it together. And a lot of character decisions were beyond contrived.

Re: Juan of the Dead
I saw a screening of this yesterday. I liked it and was surprised at the scale of the film (considering the relatively meager budget). It genuinely looks like thousands of zombies have overrun and destroyed the city of Havana.
The characters, including Juan, were likable enough. Thought the script was trying a little too hard to be funny though.
There are some excellent zombie kills too, so the gorehounds should be pleased.
I prefer Shaun of the Dead, but Juan of the Dead certainly holds its own. Recommended.

I'm still surprised at this bacon craze. I mean bacon is awesome but what is the deal with putting bacon itself/ bacon flavor/bacon essense in/on/with/next to anything and everything.

already in post production folks... WARM BODIES
After a zombie becomes involved with the girlfriend of one of his victims, their romance sets in motion a sequence of events that might transform the entire lifeless world.

Juan of the Dead looks real legit. Comes out on Blu-ray in August, I think.
