^^^ I saw a $16 evening show for Blade Runner 2049 back in October and Movie Pass paid for the entire ticket.

MoviePass loads a different amount depending on ticket prices at the theater where you check in. It should be enough to pay for a standard 2D screening. If there are any upcharges, it probably won't pay for those, and isn't supposed to. Based on what you've described, this screening probably should not have been listed in the app.

Also why can't they just do this for upgraded movies and let us pay the difference?

Ignore my ravings below if you want, but at least hear this: see Thelma now! My favorite film of the year, perhaps longer, just an amazingly shot and acted film.
My love for MoviePass is growing. I used to see movies all the time, often taking chances on films with which I was completely unfamiliar or even genres I didn't normally enjoy. Theater going was near the top of my freetime list, both with friends and by myself. As often happens, as I became more adult and gained a wife, daughter, and much longer commute, my theater excursions curtailed dramatically. The increased cost was also key in my going from perhaps 50 films a year in theaters down to 3 or 4 a year the last several years. The ease and cost savings from MoviePass has changed my behavior, and I'm back to taking chances on movies. I'm glad I did, because last night I saw my favorite film of 2017, if not longer. Not a wide release probably, but if Thelma is showing anywhere near any of you, I urge you to see it in theaters while you can.

Thanks.I think the ticket was $11.50 same price as the other movies that night.Looks like they have some good pictures coming up.Elf,IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE and Die Hard.Hope they are playing in my area.
And I think with Studio Movie Grill they have A deal with MP that you can reserve online instead of
having to go to the movie theater and do the smartphone app.
A Christmas Story is playing this Wednesday at Studio Movie Grill.Tickets are only $5 if MP does not work.

Buying tickets online would be awesome.
I saw a movie yesterday and the ticket guy said they see MP "all the time" now.

Yes, it's down. They announced it on their facebook. If you buy a ticket out of pocket they will reimburse you if you submit the ticket stub/reciept. When that has happened to me, I like to buy the ticket with the card that I pay for my MoviePass with, as that is where the refund will go.

Hmmmm. I was going to use it in about an hour. Lots of bitching on their Facebook page, of course. I can always go tomorrow.

I had issues again when I watched the Justice League. Same thing in terms of it's this theater's brand of larger theater. But this time it wouldn't allow any kind of a charge instead of the partial charge that it allowed for Coco. The theater attendant was very nice and tried a partial charge and when she saw that go through she just charged for a different show and allowed me to see it at the time I wanted too. The odd thing is that in the MP app it is listed as a separate listing from the other showings.
I'm not sure if I should contact MP at this point or not. I'd rather not lose the ability to use an entire theater but I don't want problems with them not loading the correct amount.

Wow, they have costco selling this now:
https://www.costco.com/MoviePass-and...&storeId=10301
But you can't renew an existing account ,you need to make a new one and cancel:
https://moviepass.zendesk.com/hc/en-...e-Costco-deal-
Also both fandor and moviepass will revert to normal pricing automatically, so if you don't want fandor, you have to remember to cancel.
Ok with costco protection I'm in for the year, I think.

Yes, you enroll for the Costco promo code at www.Costco.com. Then you would sign-up for a new account at www.moviepass.com/costco using the promo code. You must use a different email address from the address used for your monthly MoviePass subscription. After you are successfully enrolled in the program, you can cancel your old monthly subscription in the MoviePass App by following these cancellation instructions.

Yeah, guess I'll go for the Costco year thing. It adds a year of Fandor, and Costco is always great with returns in case MP goes belly up soon.

Yeah. There's no way that I am going to front them $90 for an "annual" membership. Not after the BS that was had trying to get the initial card, and the BS that is being reported by people that bit on the annual membership when MoviePass first offered it.

Even if it's listed, it won't cover the ticket price.

So I jumped on the Costco deal and bought one for my son and I since we go to the movies at least 3 times a month.
Quick questions to those who have it so I don't have to dig thru this whole thread:
1. Do I have to wait on the card to come in before I can see a movie? I did the sign up thing and have the app but it appears they say you have to have the card but I thought I had read you don't need the card.
2. Do theaters still let you pay the difference for an IMAX or 3D movie? I had also read at one time that most places were letting people do that but didn't know if it had been clamped down on by now.
Looking forward to getting my cards in and using this thing. I hope it sticks around. It seemed to good to be true when I first read about it here and other places but with Costco backing it, I felt comfortable enough to give it a shot.
All of our theaters around here are now AMC. Do you link your Stubbs card to the Movie Pass account or do you just scan it when you pick up your tickets at the box office? Guess that is three questions.

1. Yes, you have to wait until the card arrives. it needs to be swiped as a Master Card to pay for your ticket. The app is just for checking in and then the money loads into the card.
2. No, IMAX and 3D are not included and you cannot check into them via the app.
As for Stubs, you cannot use them in conjunction with MP according to Stubs TOS. However, there is a loophole where you can buy the ticket via a kiosk and then swipe your Stubs card there since there is no way for te Kiosk to identify that it's a MP card. it just thinks it's a standard Mastercard.
