Even though he doesn't look like he does in the comics, this still looks pretty good. At least I hope it will be. Daredevil and Spiderman were total garbage, changing way too many things.

Well...this Thor has the upper body armor/costume from the current. The beard and the assumption that's a crazy guy from The Ultimates. So yeah...he does kind of look like the comics.

Saw it. Overall, a very entertaining movie with fair share of humor, adventure, and , surprisingly, a good love story. I would rank it below the first Iron Man, but ahead of Incredible Hulk and Iron Man 2.
I was skeptical about Hemsworth when I first saw clips, but he really owned the role. He made Thor into a very likable character, probably the most so of the Avengers we have seen so far. Banner was too much of a brooder, and while Tony Stark was more fun than Thor, he was also quite a jerk at times. Will wait to see Steve Rogers, but he seems like too much of an "apple pie and baseball" kind of person at this point. A bad ass one, but still...
My only gripes are with the way Asgard itself got presented. It might have been due to the 3D, but it looked very CG. The castle looked like a church organ, and a lot of the area around the Rainbow Bridge looked like something out of Mario Go Cart. I just have a feeling this was due to the 3D print calling attention to these aspects than anything else. I really want to see it in 2D as it might be more impressive.
Finally, while it was good on its own, it has the same ring of everything since the first Iron Man, and that's "want to see Avengers?" I understand what Marvel wants to do, but it's getting tiresome and making everything seem incomplete. More later, but need to go to bed.

I thought "Thor" was good, not great, grades out around a B/B-, mainly due to the main plot being okay. More when I get some sleep to mull it over. If you're a fan of the character, it's worth seeing in the theaters, but don't spend extra for 3D (I didn't see it in 3D, and don't feel like I missed much 3D-wise).

I thought it was a great movie. It wasn't as fun as Green Hornet was though, but still great in it's own right.

Definitely better than IM2, but not nearly as good as IM1 or Begins. Probably just marginally better than TDK.
Visually, costumes and set design were badass.
Hemsworth was perfect in the role.
I needed another hour at least. Bring on the Extended Edition.

I quite liked it. It's 80% character, 20% action, which on some level is refreshing for a movie of this type, but at the same time I felt like more could have been done with the scenes in Asgard to make those portions feel meatier. And out of all the Marvel movies, this one feels the most like the origin, with the main character not even getting to use his powers until the end of the third act (with the exception of one flashback). I think Branagh did a commendable job, but it's hard to view this as anything but yet another lead-in to The Avengers.
Also, don't see this in 3D. The conversion never looked terrible, but I did find that during the action sequences the 3D made it harder to follow than it needed to be. And none of the shots ever felt like they benefited from the 3D. I want to see it again in 2D to form a better opinion of it.

Can someone do me a favor?
When they see it and they are waiting for the end credit sequence and the "Thank Yous" come up. I'm sure i saw "Ralph Macchio" there! I've checked IMDB but no luck.

So on a side note, I'm glad they got magic to be work in the Marvel Universe. Iron Man & Hulk set up a fairly realistic universe, then Thor comes in with magic, and it doesn't seem unrealistic or anything.

I'm not a huge 3D fan but I thought it looked excellent in IMAX 3D. I thought they had filmed it in 3D actually, but guess not. Great movie, really enjoyed it...

I enjoyed the movie, but it was a CG overload. The story was good, and the actors were fine. The pacing was a little off though, and the movie felt a little incomplete (I was shocked the movie was concluding at the end). It's better than The Incredible Hulk, but no match for the Iron Man movies in my opinion.

The casting of the large cast of characters was pretty good, though I'm not sure I liked all of the direction by Branaugh (mainly the action sequences, and the angles used for the shots). There is some funny comedic moments sprinkled in the first half of the film. The film sags in the middle, and it sort of muddles to a conclusion, but without enough familial resonance for my tastes (the Odin-Thor-Loki relationship just fell flat for me). The script sort of limps to the finish line as well, so it was just okay, not great. The script also tries to balance the goings-on for the subplots on Earth and Asgard, and doesn't quite feel like a finished script in spots. Asgard felt antiseptic to me, too much so. But even so, it's still worth seeing on the big screen, but I doubt it's all that necessary to see it in 3D (I only saw it in 2D).
I give it 2.75 stars or a grade of B- (some parts get a B, but not all of it).

It's not the "Karate Kid" Ralph Macchio if that's what you were thinking. This RM is an editor at Marvel.

But how awesome/weird would it have been if was the Karate Kid one?!

So Darcy is the most pointless character ever. She served no purpose at all, I don't get why they even made up here character for the movie other than to give Kat Dennings a job.

I thought Darcy was funny and the more KAt Dennings the better.
Overall, I really liked this movie and it's my favourite Marvel film so far. The the 3D post conversion looked surprisingly good. It wasn't necessary but it wasn't distracting either. My only gripes are that I wanted more with Thor's crew (after the trip to Jotunheim they're pretty much sidelined) and it made no sense for Thor to only wear his helm once. Loki and Odin wore a helm (two different ones for Odin) for about 70% of their respective screentime but Thor just wore his for once frigging scene. The costume looked incomplete without it.
