Re: The Expendables 2 (2012?)
Liam Hemsworth replaces Mickey Rourke as Tool?
This is total bullshit or Hemsworth plays Tool in a flashback. Seriously, that's the only way that makes sense.

HIS brother, Chris, is one of Hollywood's leading action men and now Liam Hemsworth looks set to join him after being cast in big-budget sequel The Expendables 2.
Replacing Mickey Rourke, who has pulled out for unspecified reasons, Hemsworth will play Tool in the film, which boasts an all-star cast, including Sylvester Stallone, John Travolta, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Chuck Norris, Jean Claude Van Damme and Nicolas Cage.
The news comes as a lift for the Phillip Island local who was cast in the original Expendables in 2009 but written out of the script.
It's understood Stallone, who directed the first film, kept him in mind and -- after Rourke pulled out of the sequel -- insisted the 21-year-old be cast.
"It's super-cool news for him and he's thrilled to be doing it," said Hemsworth's Aussie rep, Mark Morrissey.
"Liam has an interest in all aspects of film but this is something he is particularly keen on so it's going to be a cool project."
The news, however, casts some doubt on whether Hemsworth will be available for his rumoured role in The Power of the Dark Crystal -- directed by Aussie brothers Peter and Michael Spierig -- due to begin production soon.
The Expendables 2, meanwhile, will be directed by Simon West and follows the original, which was released last year and raked in $274 million at the box office.
Hemsworth wrapped shooting on Lionsgate's The Hunger Games, while his action-hunk brother Chris is shooting Snow White and the Huntsman in London with Kristen Stewart.

On the Chuck Zito show last night on Sirius, he mentioned that Mickey Rourke was dropped from the film after being a diva to Sly and wanting more money. Sounds like classic Mickey.

^That'd be sad if true. He was the best part of the first film.
Apparently, according to Scott Adkins, Van Damme's character is indeed called Jean Vilain. Scott Adkins plays his second in command and his character is simply called Hector.
Hopefully we get to see Dolph Lundgren take them both on at the same time. And actually get to see the fights this time around...

Didn't he do The Expendables after Iron Man 2? Never heard of The Boxer. Or did you mean The Wrestler?

Rourke made no bones about the fact that he only appeared in the last film to repay a favor, after Stallone cast him in Get Carter when he had been unemployed for too long. I'm not surprised by this move.

I'm stoked that Van Damme is the bad guy. He plays the part extremely well. I watched a DTV movie of his called "Replicant" and his bad guy roll kicked arse.

Don't get me wrong. I think it's great Van Damme is playing the bad guy. I was just hoping they'd keep the idea that Willis is the evil puppet master behind it all.

Was going to say the same thing, he was great as a villain in Replicant. I have no doubt he will be awesome in this.
