Re: The Official Black Dynamite Appreciation Thread
Hopefully they don't sell out and try to make it a bigger budget movie. i loved the low budget style of the first and the need to stay with that. Don't get alot of "Big names" just stay with what worked

Any Black Dynamite fans who haven't gotten the soundtrack yet, I highly recommend it. When you can hear the complete tunes with the often, blatantly narrative lyrics, you'll get a good laugh. I really think Adrian Yongue's score was overlooked by critics who didn't realize with the exception of the theme song (remixed from an original song by the director himself) it was all original material.

As much as I loved the movie, it would have been even better had it been like that trailer.

Re: The Official Black Dynamite Appreciation Thread
Downloaded the soundtrack the other day, but haven't listened to it yet. I loved the score, so I know I'll enjoy listening to it.
Also, I knew the pre-release version had some changes, but I just found out that it included an additional 6 minutes of dialogue/fight scenes. Lucky me, I got an anamorphic bootleg of it from a friend after I saw it in theaters because I couldn't wait for the BD. Can never have too much of a good thing.

I actually rented this because of this thread (and well, the trailer was friggin awesome) you know the kind of gut busting laughs (not aloud, just to the point where it makes you curl over a little bit) you get after the movie is over (and during at some points of course)? that's what I got.
This movie also has the best boom mic apperance ever.
Jai White played the character really well, too well actually....just looking at him in the first 10 or so minutes had me laughing constantly - he really nailed it.
The story had to be one of the best ever for this type of movie - so ridiculous but it worked so well.
I loved it.

Re: The Official Black Dynamite Appreciation Thread
I picked this one up from Movie Gallery's closing sales, BLIND BUY... one of the most satisfying bling buys Ive ever made... This movie is what a movie like Im Gonna Get you Sucka shoulve been (though its a decent movie)...
Some favorite parts
Captain Kangaroo Pimp
The whole leadup to Roscoe (Chili and Donuts) discovering the Chicken and Waffles bujsiness idea, I crack up every time I hear him scream THAT'S IT! as he runs out the diner
The scene IN the chili and donuts place where the guy in the donut suit is seemingly shot by BD for no reason... he falls, rolls around, stops, and when they cut back to him, he's holding a machine gun
Shawanda: My Mama said my Daddy’s name is Black Dynamite.
Brikwilla: So did my mama.
Black Dynamite: Uh, hush up little girls, lotta cats have that name... (the delivery of that line was hilarious)

I'm so glad someone else said this one. Its one of those subtle lines that is so quick, you would never think it would be such a great line. Its totally one of my favorites in the film completely because of the way MJW says it.

Re: The Official Black Dynamite Appreciation Thread
Not much, but here's a little tidbit from JoBlo.com:
The recent blaxploitation flick BLACK DYNAMITE may not have been a box office beatdown, but it was practically destined to be a cult fave.
And if star Michael Jai White has his way, the pistol-packin' kung fu badass will return to hand out hard-hittin' street justice to more fools.
"I've had the idea for BLACK DYNAMITE 2 for quite a while now, and it's gonna start where BLACK DYNAMITE left off - there's lots of things we didn't get a chance to do in the first one," White tells UK's Mirror. "You know how BLACK DYNAMITE just grows in ridiculousness? Well, this will be a fitting sequel."
When we'll see this is anyone's guess, but whenever we do, Dynamite will undoubtedly be pleasing the ladies and putting big bullet holes in crime.

Wife and I watched this last night finally. I was crying in parts from laughter. I loved when he went back to apologize to the First Lady.

I finally saw this last night and have to echo everything that's been said - what fun, it's great to see a movie like this that doesn't overdo the parody to the point of stupidity like the "Date Movie" type flicks. I would love to see a sequel. Dynamite!
