Re: Black Dynamite
This is easily one of the funniest flicks I have seen in a very long time! The scene with the boom mic was hilarious but, later on when BD goes to fight the room full of dudes in the pool hall and his "main man" steps in to take up his slack and "accidently" slaps the hell out of the thug had me howlin'!

Re: Black Dynamite
Finally picked the DVD up earlier the week and gave the commentary a listen. Finally found the answer to a question I had earlier:
The commentary points out that she ended up on the cutting-room floor (Properly keeping in theme with the movie!) but does she appear in the deleted scenes on the disc? (Haven't made it there yet)
But the movie managed to be a bit more genius than I thought before. No way would I have caught the militant who reads outloud his script-actions as well as his script-lines.
I noticed that this DVD also had different end-credits that appeared after the animation segments (Outtake footage & different music) than the theatrical release.

After about the 3rd viewing I noticed that
Spoiler:
Just want to say that I haven't paid more than 9.99 for a blu-ray in a very long time. I bought this for 16.49 at amazon and it was worth every penny

Those are some of my favorite parts as well. The boom mic was so great especially when he actually looks up at it! Little stuff like that is what makes this so great!

The Official Black Dynamite Appreciation Thread
Don't care if there is already a thread on this movie somewhere. It needs an official appreciation thread for all people that have never seen this & now will do so because of this thread.
This is the best comedy since the 80s which was the last time they made comedies that were actually funny.

Even if you're not a fan of blaxploitation movies, this is an absolute must see. So many quotable lines and great scenes they packed into less than 90 minutes of movie. The scene in his office where the boom mic is visible (and afro runs into it) is absolute gold. I thought it out-grindhoused the Rodriguez/Tarantino offerings.

One of the funniest lines & deliveries in the history of film by Jai White.
"I'll send your ass back to Crenshaw Pete's with his hot-ass coathangers bitch, would you like that"

If you check out the comic-con footage on the disc, White actually does a better line-reading impression of Rudy than Byron does!

Re: The Official Black Dynamite Appreciation Thread
I thought the look and feel of the movie was incredibly authentic. There's a handful of scenes where the actors give away that they're in on the joke, but those scenes aside, if I hadn't known beforehand, I would have thought I was watching some lost film from the 70s.

As he laid there, flat on his face, he looked up at me. His little Chinese eyes burnin' right into my stomach, deep into my soul. He said somethin' to me in Chinese like, "Boo coo sow!" sounded like some cartoon shit. But I understood it to be a question that he was askin' me. And I don't have to know how to speak Chinese to know what that question was. "Why, Black Dynamite? Why?"

I could not stand Michael Jai White before this movie. But since I found out this was his baby, and watched the movie, I'm kind of a fan.
One of the most entertaining films in years, I couldn't have enjoyed it more.

Ironically, it's about to have it's TV-premier on the 16th at 4:30am on Starz HD, but that looks to be the only showing of the month
I'm sure those with On-Demand options can have an easier time finding it.

Re: The Official Black Dynamite Appreciation Thread
I wanna watch this again! I had the chance to catch a midnight screening a few weeks ago, but ended up bailing and I regret it. It seems like the kind of thing that will make the midnight movie circuit a few more times, though.
