Man, you guys bitch and whine about endless sequels and remakes, then Abrams and Spielberg team up to make something cool and unique and everyone shits on it. Whatever. Enjoy Thor.
Love that poster, and will get it for sure.
I do find it funny that you said "unique" yet everyone keeps saying it reminds them of Goonies and ET. Two films I cannot watch but if JJ is behind it i'm there.
Christ, I still have my Alias poster still on the wall.
Actually looking at my wall I still have a Cloverfield and Star Trek teaser posters still on display.

Looks like the Goonies meets Cloverfield.

I'm in. Loved the music at the beginning. That was from Cocoon right?

Re: Super 8 (produced by JJ Abrams)

As each new trailer comes out I lose more and more interest in this movie. I saw the latest trailer today before Battle LA and I was meh. When I first heard about this movie I was SO PUMPED. I saw the first teaser and read about the very few details and I totally geeked out over the movie, but as time went by and more trailers were released and now that the latest trailer has been released I've seriously lost interest. Kids chasing after an alien??? Come on.

Without a doubt I'll still catch this, but my interest level now is about a 3 and when the initial teaser came out my interest level was probably about 75.

Can't wait.

Looks like a combination of The Night They Raided Minsky's and The Toolbox Murders.

Looks like Kids Co meets Fire in the Sky! Or maybe more of a Harry and the Hendersons/Communion combination?

Yep! And it was also at the end of the trailer too.

Re: Super 8 (produced by JJ Abrams)

Just saw the long trailer during the Trump Roast. I'm excited for this movie. It looks like a Spielberg film but hopefully with Abrams behind the camera it will be without the little Spielbergian annoyances.

In case people were wondering, the specific track from Cocoon is "Through the window;" it appears to have been re-scored for the trailer.

Re: Super 8 (produced by JJ Abrams)

The alien/creature is really a good guy, only the childlike trust and wonder of the children will understand that, and the big bad army will be the villains who were persecuting the poor misunderstood alien/creature.

I posted a good ways back that Spielberg being involved was bad news. I hope Abrams will be able to overcome the mediocrity that is Spielberg and make a good film, but I'm not holding my breath.

Reminds me of The Patchwork Girl of Oz meets Glen or Glenda.

Just so I understand you're saying that Spielberg's movies are mediocre?

Dude, it's Spielberg. We're not talking about Kubrick here.

Yeah...Spielberg was never so sloppy as to have 2 completely different actresses playing the same naked chick.

No, but he was sloppy enough to make The Terminal.
