Super 8 (produced by JJ Abrams)

Re: Super 8 (produced by JJ Abrams)
Before I saw Abrams' name on the trailer, I was excited, thinking it was a teaser for "Paul" which will arguably be more entertaining than any other Area 51 film.

This one for me is a hard one to say "IF" I like it. Watching it the movie was not all that bad. But there where holds. Come on GodZilla others you have a idea what they are at the start of most movies. After watching the extras that filled in the holds I then could say I like it.

If I decoded it correctly, the poster is saying:
It was difficult to determine if I liked it; overall the movie wasn't bad but there were points where it dragged. Come on, like other monster movies, i.e. Godzilla, you know from the start it's a monster movie and all that it entails. The highs of the film outweigh the lows, so I guess I did like it after all.
I think that's correct; at least I hope it is because that really made no sense the first time I ran through it.
Trailer wasn't special; I'll still want to see the flick but it was a bit weak for all it's hype. There could have been much more, maybe actually showing the alien or a hand/eyes some electrokinetic power or something. Maybe even have a bit more exposition, showing the truck driver Sunday driving until all of the sudden he turns the car into the train.

Let the J.J. viral headaches begin ...
Screencaps from trailer reveal 'letters'

Spelled out ... “Scariest Thing I Ever Saw”
ScariestThingIEverSaw.com was register a little over a week after the film’s official website super8-movie.com, and by the same registration company.
The website shows a PDP-11 16-bit microcomputer display:

The teaser was well made and got me interested but two things have me worried.
A. Cloverfield was terrible. I was totally sold on that film being awesome and it flat out sucked. The teaser contained the best 30 seconds of the movie.
B. I'm pretty sure the man directing this film is also the one who directed Paranormal Activity.
The Beard producing gives me a small glimmer of hope that it'll be better than Cloverfield but for now I'm just gonna not get my expectations up.

No it doesn't.
Edit: Hmm I guess it does. My bad. I was under the impression he was just producing again. Excitement has gone back up quite a bit.

Cloverfield was awesome.
I'm sure this will be too.
But I'm pissed that Abrams is wasting his time on anything other than The Micronauts. Screw Speilberg and Star Trek, get busy on Acroyear and Baron Karza.

Yeah, Cloverfield was great. I can see how it isn't for everyone, but it was well-made and was genuinely suspenseful. The teaser/trailer definitely has me anticipating this quite a bit.

Oddly, I didn't get to see the trailer before Iron Man 2. Hopefully it's posted somewhere so I can see it.

We don't know what Super 8 refers to in the movie, but we know what it normally refers to.
Still, I'm stoked.

I assume it could be something to do with a Roswell era video shot on Super 8 that is part of the evidence for this "creature"

The trailer looked good, it got me excited to see this but revealed nothing. I love those kinds of trailers. Of course I'll watch any Area 51/alien themed movie.

That is really remarkable in this day and age of spoiler-filled websites.
