Get Him to the Greek (Brand, Hill) >> June 4th, 2010
Trailer is up at Apple: http://www.apple.com/trailers/univer...himtothegreek/
Surprised there was no thread for this (at least in a search).
Looks very funny.
EDIT: Here it is on YouTube:

Hate Brand and the Snow character, but there were some pretty funny scenes... May end up being funny.

I love Jonah Hill; this could be pretty funny. God damn his weight seems to fluctuate a lot though.

Looks fun. I predict that the 1st 40 or so minutes will be fuckin' hilarious, then the film will take a sudden turn and get soft.

Josh Tyler of Cinemablend was claiming on Twitter that this film had "one of the most depraved scripts I've ever read", so I have my hopes that it won't let up in the end. There doesn't seem to be any sort of romantic plot in the film, so perhaps it will be a straight comedy rather than most of the core Apatow productions (i.e. not Will Ferrell movies).

Saw a screening of this tonight. Going in, not a fan of Hill, liked Brand, and really liked Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Coming out, still not a fan of Hill and still like Brand, so it did nothing to change any perceptions.
But with that said, there were some fun parts in it. It's basically a road movie with stops in London, NYC, Vegas and LA, so when a spot gets tiring, it's not long before they're in a new locale. It doesn't go soft for the third act, yes it does slow down a bit, but there's still good comedy--doesn't crash nearly as badly as Knocked Up or Funny People (the latter of which went from bad to horrendous in the final act)
I actually really enjoyed P. Diddy in it.
Oh yeah, and dear lord, Hill is gigantic.

I thought it was hilarious. I liked it better than Forgetting Sarah Marshall, which I finally watched the other day.
Still don't understand where all the Russell Brand hate comes from, but I've never seen him in anything other than these two movies.

Saw a trailer for this before "Date Night." After the trailer, I said to my wife, "I hope I never have to see this." I think I literally smelled the stink coming off the screen.

Saw the Vegas premiere of the film last night with Brand, Hill and Stoller in attendance (who also participated in a Q&A after the film).
I thought it was a funnier film than Forgetting Sarah Marshall, but the narrative structure is weak (and at times can be almost downright terrible). The heart and soul that Forgetting Sarah Marshall had is gone, but the trade-off is that we get a much funnier film. It's a hard juggling act, but as a straight forward comedy, I thought it was hilarious.
For those who haven't mentioned it yet, Diddy steals the show.
During the Q&A, Brand came off that he didn't want to be there with his body language; what tipped the scale is that he ripped some poor girl a new asshole when her question was that she wanted a picture with him as it was her friend's birthday. The girl probably felt like shit, but goddamnit, it was hilarious.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall was excellent, so the comparisons to that have me interested in this now. Sounds like a good movie for me and my buddy to down a few drinks before catching
