Saw it. Enjoyed the hell out of it. I feel the complete opposite of the above; I thought the movie started off kind of slow with some decent jokes spread throughout, but once they get read to hit Vegas the movie is absolutely wild and hilarious.
I agree with the earlier reviews about it having more big laughs then Sarah Marshall, but less heart. The ending with Aldous slowed down a bit too much and just felt a bit too sappy and tried to cram too much resolution to his character with Jackie Q, his son, and the alcohol/drugs. I still loved The Hangover more, but this was exactly what I was looking for in a comedy this summer. And seriously, Sean Combs/Diddy is absolutely fantastic in the whole movie. Smiley face.

Still, the funniest movie of the year.
Now can we stop comparing comedies to The Hangover?

Extract was funnier than Get Him To the Greek, which remains the funniest movie since The Hangover

With the extreme fluctuations in Hill's weight, combined with his success at a very young age....not to be too morbid, but....does anyone have him on their "death pool"? I mean, think about it: Belushi. Candy. Farley. Kinison. Notice a pattern? Heavy-set "extreme" comedians tend to burn out quickly....one way or another.
That said (and that aside), I can't stand Hill. And I had no idea this was a sequel-of-sorts; in fact, the first mention I've heard of that has been here. Apparently these film-makers have dropped that particular ball (tie-in promotion).

Was more than happy with this movie. Laugh out loud funny. In fact i know I missed a bunch of good lines because we were laughing so hard. P Diddy was gold Jerry, gold.

Saw Greek today, wasn't as funny as I was hoping but still some great laughs here and t here and overall a pretty well made, enjoyable flick. Sarah Marshall was consistantly funnier, though.

I've got it:
Extract wasn't as good as this, but it was better than one of the most overrated movies in history, The Hangover.

Extract and any form of Funny don't really fit together, that movie had maybe 3 good scenes and load of blah, Judge's worst.

Enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. Puffy definitely stole the show with his performance.

The wife and I caught this today. I loved it. I laughed myself into tears during the party in Vegas scene.

The character was SUPPOSED to be grating and annoying, so we could sympathize with Bateman's character...it was played brilliantly and had me in tears laughing.

I know he was supposed to be, and doing so doesn't make it a good or funny character, it makes him grating and annoying. To each their own.

Was really surprised at how much I laughed during this.
I loved some of the random scenes ->
Also had one of the greatest soundtracks of any mainstream comedy I've ever seen, Clash, Pistols, Ramones, Only Ones, T-Rex...

Re: Get Him to the Greek (Brand, Hill) >> June 4th, 2010
I think Jonah Hill is becoming that guy that you either love or hate in the movies, and I was waning towards hate, but I saw "Get Him to the Greek" in spite of his presence, and as a metaphor for drug addiction (the highs and the eventually lows, and the levelling out), the film somewhat works as Russell Brand reprises his role of Aldous Snow from "Forgetting Sarah Marshall", while Jonah Hill is Aaron Green, who works for record exec Sergio (P. Diddy), and is tasked with bringing Aldous back from Europe for a 10 year anniversary performance at the Greek in LA over the course of a few days. P. Diddy's Sergio struggled in the beginning, but he got funnier as the film wore on. Rose Byrne's Jackie Q (Aldous' lover) was, however, bringing the heat and humor and made the most of her scenes.
The films structure plays fast and loose with the changes in scenery when the main players wear out their welcome from place to place, and it is hilarious in spots, somewhat dramatic, or playfully charming as Aldous can be with a devil-may-care attitude. So, overall, it's very uneven, and is a bit of a chore to sit through to the end.
I give it 2.5 stars, or a grade of C+.
