Yes. They didn't clutter the origin w/ them in the 616. I haven't read Ultimate in a while but goddamn how much did they add in w/ that? Did it make any sense in the end?

In the current Ultimate X-men series, it has just been revealed to the public that the government was responsible for creating mutants, so we will see where that goes. |
Re: Spider-Man (2012, Marc Webb)
While I am not particularly fond of Connors seeming evil regardless of the transformation, I kind of see where it makes sense . I am thinking that it may be like the early cases of Norman Osborne and the Goblin. I seem to recollect that Osborne retained the Goblin persona sans the outfit for a certain time period, until he was just knocked unconscious and regained his old persona. The same might hold true for Connors , and he might be able to transform at will into the lizard. Not that I like that, but a possible explanation.

Re: Spider-Man (2012, Marc Webb)
Norman Osborn was always evil. The Goblin formula only made him more evil (it drove him insane).

The Halloween costumes show the Lizard in more detail. Also apparently a Gwen Stacy costume out of Sins Past or something... |

I think the trailer looks surprisingly good.

He's muscular on that cover because Jack Kirby drew it and pretty much all his characters look muscular. The drawings inside by Steve Ditko feature a much thinner Spider-Man.
As the series progressed Ditko drew Spider-man more muscular. When he very first appeared, he was skinny, John Romita then drew him typically muscular, 80s artists drew him kind of atheleticly slim, McFarlane drew him muscular again, then John Romita Jr drew him tiny and skinny, as well as Bagley in Ultimate Spider-man. |

everyone who hates the look of the Lizard, should blame Rhys Ifans' parents... because it looks A LOT like him.

The Halloween costumes for the lizard look almost as convincing as the one in the movie. Maybe there's a surprise where he

On a serious note, the Lizard costume is fine if they are trying to show that the Lizard will be emoting, rather being some generic CGI beast. If the Lizard was CGI (or had a CGI head), the Lizard wouldn't give a good performance (unless it was Andy Serkis behind the motion-capture Lizard CGI). |
Re: Spider-Man (2012, Marc Webb)
meh. Don't know how I feel about another spider man remake. Seems as though the series is following the Hulk remakes. lol

Meh don't really care to see it.

Re: Spider-Man (2012, Marc Webb)
The Lizard seems more like Killer Croc in appearance.
|
Re: Spider-Man (2012, Marc Webb)
Killer Croc wasn't always so animalistic. He originally was just a man with a rare skin disease that give him green scaly skin. He wasn't even really all that physically strong. Bane kicked his ass not once but twice, breaking his arms in both battles, and Bane didn't even use the Venom drug in the second battle. It wasn't until the late 90s when Killer Croc started mutating into more of an animal that he is known as today.
Lizard is actually the same way. Steve Ditko never drew him with a snout. Lizard has progressively become more and more animalistic over the decades. |
Re: Spider-Man (2012, Marc Webb)
I'm just saying that in the regards to this film, it seems like the look of the Lizard is more like Killer Croc from Arkham Asylum. Of course, I'd much rather see a feral Lizard like in McFarlane's Torment instead of the hulking reptilian he's portrayed as... and definitely not something like Serpentyne from ROM. Spider-man doesn't transform into something larger than what he is and, IIRC, the original Lizard didn't either which is why he still has pants and the lab coat.
|
Re: Spider-Man (2012, Marc Webb)
Hulk is ten times bigger than Bruce Banner and yet still retains his pants. So there goes that theory.
