I'm not sure about McAvoy either, but Patrick Stewart is 70 bleedin' years old this year, it's gonna take a lot of makeup to pass for his 20s.

Fox wants Michael Fassbender (Inglourious Basterds) to play Magneto. There's another report saying Sony wants him for the villain in the Spiderman reboot.

Fox is now in negotiations with Fassbender for Magneto. Although I would have liked to see him as possibly the Lizard in the new Spider-man reboot, I can understand why he chose Magneto. I can see them doing a spin-off with him later.
IMDB has Amber Heard rumored to be playing Mystique.
The rumor that Rosamund Pike may be playing Emma Frost might be wrong. Now I'm reading she may be wanted for Moira McTaggert.

Alice Eve to play Emma Frost in 'X-Men: First Class'
Alice Eve is in negotiations to play Emma Frost in “X-Men: First Class,” Fox’s relaunch of the Marvel Comics-based franchise being directed by Matthew Vaughn.
Eve joins Michael Fassbender as Magneto and James McAvoy as Professor X in the story that focuses on Marvel's superpowered team X-Men in a younger incarnation than the previous trilogy.
In comics lore, Frost was originally a villain called the White Queen who eventually became a member of X-Men, then a teacher at Xavier’s School of Gifted Students. She has telepathic powers and as the White Queen wore scantily clad costumes.

Eve, repped by UTA, Untitled and ARG in the UK, starred opposite Jay Baruchel in “She’s Out of My League” and appeared in “The Decoy Bride.” Eve was also a candidate for the female lead in “Captain America.”

Either her or Pike would be awesome, awesome Maxim pic devilshalo!
I hope they don't go the route of Wolverine and have the diamond-forming White Queen as opposed to the telepathic version.

I know, but not what was presented in X-Men Origins Wolverine; the telepathy wasn't even hinted to
Even then, I always thought that the second mutation was more of a gimmick to try to differentiate her from Jean Grey.

oh yeah...sorry. I forgot she was in Wolverine. I was thinking solely about the comics.
comicwise...sans her 2nd mutation her character alone was very different from Jean Grey to begin with.
