Re: Human Centipede (What?)
Finally saw this film. I didn't it was nearly as bad as some were saying.
It was absurd and at times made me laugh quite a bit.
If anything I thought the most disturbing thing about the film was the drawings of the operations themselves as seeing the actual final product.

Well I'll be dammed. from Boxofficemojo.com
Human Centipede Horror IFC 4/30/10 R disturbing sadistic horror violence, nudity and language.
Since IFC has a deal with blockbuster, this would amuse me to no end if this ends up availible to rent there, and have alot of customer complaints

Also this will probaby be a big Renter anyway, you might be surprised how much revenue is generated by these types of movies. The horror section is filled with movies worse then this.

What are you posting that info from Bo mojo for, is that new news? What makes you think there is an IFC deal with BBV?

Blockbuster had a deal with IFC for exclusive access to DVD and Blu-ray releases before they hit retailers, but I'm under the impression that deal is no more as Human Centipede is out everywhere on October 5th.

well The Killer Inside Me is on DVD now as a BB exclusive, and i think the official street date at the end of the month.
Also, i am actually somewhat surprised it got an R rating, granted yes its not nearly as graphic as one would think, but just the thought.

I'm watching it now.
first 45 minutes or so are pretty creepy/ scary I think. the 2 girls are very good.

Re: Human Centipede (What?)
Just finished watching, after about a year after hearing about it.
Overall it was quite, well, boring. The two girls were annoying as hell when they weren't in centipede form, even if Ashley C. Williams was pretty smoking hot (especially in her audition tape). The writing and plotting was inane, even if it was medically accurate . The gore aspect was on the down low, with the only truly disturbing part being the centipede trying to climb the staircase. I just couldn't get over that it looked like three people crawling in a row wearing taped diapers. I also watched the extras and found it interesting that it's only in the "behind the scenes" feature that you get to see the full nature of the creepy surgery job on the girls.
I could see how it could be deemed disturbing by some, but overall I found it "meh." If you want truly creepy, watch the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre or Hellraiser.

I just went out to the living room and said, "Human Centipede" to my wife, just to see what would happen.
She gave me the "Shut Up" Look.

So is this movie actually porn? Since centipeding means having sex with a hundred women.

I started watching it the other night, and my GF called to see what I was doing. She told me to pause the movie until she got there
Not a great horror movie, but definitely dark humor.

That's where I wonder if the movie might have fallen flat. I found myself laughing at a lot of the stuff because it just seemed more humorous than horrific.
I cracked up when the Asian guy exclaimed: "Shit! I have to shit!"
Other stuff was just blatant stupidity. Like so much of the stuff occurring in broad daylight where just about any random passer by can see.

Re: Human Centipede (What?)
this was definitely not as bad as i thought it would be. bizarre, creepy and suspensful at times. the Dr. was played as perfectly manical and lunaticky as could be. not nearly as graphic or upsetting as it should be at all. in fact by horror movie standards of some of the more gruesome horror flix abroad or even here this was like "My Little Pony". i wish it was a little more grotesque ala Martyrs or something, but not bad as a whole. looking forward to Part II.

and to the mainstream -- from last night's Community:
"Check Netflix for that movie where Greg Kinnear plays a ghost, no, an angel! And something called Human Centipede."
...followed by a zombie apocalypse scored to ABBA.

Saw this a little while back. I thought some parts were really gross - just the thought makes me sick though so I'm prob not the best person to ask when it comes to how nasty the film really is.
The acting (other than the doctor) was absolutely terrible.
Gotta give the film credit though, you really thought these people were connected during the film - then upon watching the behind the scenes stuff...you see how easily they pulled it off.

if you liked human centipede, there is another little independant horror movie you might like that i enjoyed more, similar in genre, called "teeth", about a girl that is born with a condition called "vagina dentata", yup, a set of teeth in her vagina!
