I think Odette Yustman may be a good Megan Fox replacement.

I agree on Odette Yustman. Emma Stone would be a great choice as well.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced

Gemma Arterton makes sense - have you seen how ORANGE she looks in the Prince of Persia trailers? She'd fit right in to Transformers 3.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced

Technically she did action in Jennifer's Body. It was lousy, sure, but the women in this franchise are only asked to run, cry, and/or scream. Same for Mr. Labouf except he also gets to do improv.

But, in all seriousness, that showed a complete lack of understanding regarding the source material. You can tell a Superman story from the point of view of Jimmy Olson but you don't have him take down Darkseid. That would totally diminish the grandeur of two epic figures (Superman and Darkseid in this analogy). That's what Spielberg did to Optimus Prime and Megatron when he had Sam finish off Megatron.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced

I was watching Outlander again today and thought how about Sophia Myles? She can do action and is gorgeous. Sure she can't pass for a college student but just say the third film takes place several years after the second. I just don't know if she can manage a convincing American accent.

Exactly. When I go see Transformers...I go to see Optimus Prime beat the crap out of Megatron and vice versa. I don't want some story w/ the humans being major focal points to rescue the world. Fuck that.

I want just straight up good robots vs. bad robots with casualties being mostly humans. It's their war on our world. I don't mind something like NEST existing...I actually thought that was kinda cool. But for the kid aka Sam to be soooo fucking integral really kills what awesomeness the Transformers are. Also...get a better plot. TF2 sucked major balls. Also...get a better director...but that won't happen..so just give him an amazing story and pray he makes an ok story out of it. And then...we're kind of even.

Nothing. But don't tell that to Spielberg/Bay/the writers. They seem to think this is a coming of age story about a boy getting his first car and finding true love that just happens to feature an epic alien war. What's sad is that such a setup is genius for a first act twist. The problem is that they refuse to transition the focus of the story to the Transformers. It's okay to show the story from Sam's perspective but his focus (and therefore ours) should be fixed on the Autobot/Decepticon feud and how it may leave the Earth a dead planet just like Cybertron.

Write it down on a napkin..make millions.

Seriously...take that theme and you got a great premise. Not only did you make it more Transformers based but you also made it a very grave situational reality for them to face. I like it. Weren't they thinking about putting in Unicron for TF3?

That's because all three are models, not actresses.

I recall how many were confused that Fox wasn't starring in The Unborn. They have a very similar look.

Of the three, I've only heard about Miranda Kerr.

If they choose to recast the role of Mikaela rather than write her out entirely, she would be the best choice.

They should rewrite her character out altogether.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. Writing is my passion so I hope to do that for a living. And it irks me how half assed the scripts for these films have been. They needn't be high art but they shouldn't be so slapped together either.

That was the rumor a while back. Would be cool if they make him a global menace and not a CNN montage. He needs to be a palpable threat throughout the whole movie that only the Transformers can face.
