Re: Transformers 3d
You can barely see anything in that final fight since the camera seems to be placed a mere few inches away from the combatants through most of the sequence. And what you do see is some the shittiest CGI that ILM has ever done. Even Michael Bay apologised in the audio commentary for how crappy the sequence turned out.

I would love to see a Michael Bay movie in 3D.
Maybe I'm the only one, but could you imagine some of the action scenes he's done put in 3D? Awesome.

Patrick Dempsey boards 'Transformers 3'
Director Michael Bay will begin lensing this month
By PAMELA MCCLINTOCK
Patrick Dempsey has revealed he's joining the cast of Paramount's "Transformers 3."
In confirming the casting news, Par said director Michael Bay will begin lensing the third pic this month.
Three-quel reteams Bay with franchise stars Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox. "Transfomers 3" is set to unspool in theaters July 1, 2011.
Dempsey will play the boss of Fox's character. Dempsey told reporters in Brazil this week that it's a "dark character."
Dempsey won't be arriving on the "Transformers 3" set right away. First, he'll shoot indie pic "Flypaper," a crime-comedy about a man caught between two holdups at the same bank who is in love with one of the bank tellers. "Hangover" scribes Jon Lucas and Scott Moore penned the script.
Dempsey, star of ABC's "Grey's Anatomy," was last in theaters with romantic comedy "Made of Honor."
He's repped by UTA.

we have learned that Dempsey will play Megan Fox’s boss in a role that is “significant to the plot.”

LaBeouf promises improved 'Transformers'
Actor says second installment lacked 'heart'
Associated Press
May 13, 2010, 03:57 PM ET
CANNES -- Shia LaBeouf says the second "Transformers" movie got too big for its own good -- but the third one brings the heart back to the franchise.
LaBeouf, who starts work on the next "Transformers" sequel Tuesday, said the third installment will be the best one yet. The new script restores a human element that got lost in the second movie, LaBeouf said.
"When I saw the second movie, I wasn't impressed with what we did," LaBeouf said in an interview Thursday at the Cannes Film Festival, where his finance drama "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" is premiering. "There were some really wild stunts in it, but the heart was gone."
"Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" was a runaway commercial success but was drubbed by critics.

I dunno; Sam coming of age, enjoying his first car and trying to get his first girl...those things resonated with me. They're pretty universal themes. In the second feature, they showed him growing up, but not growing. I just want the third one to stop melding American Pie humor with the hunt for Indiana Jones-style super powerful artifacts. There's a lot of story potential in this franchise, and so far they've squandered it on letting Michael Bay show how much he loves the U.S. military.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced
This film could be decent if:
1.) Things stop blowing up every 30 seconds.
2.) Shia stops taking LSD before each take.
3.) All Michael Bay/childish humor is cut.
4.) It has a plot.
5.) It has a good plot.
6.) Epic music doesn't play when they are talking about things that don't fucking matter.
7.) Sam's parents die in a car accident.
8.) Megan Fox gets naked.
9.) They don't kill off a robot and have him alive in the same battle two seconds later.
10.) Humans don't go to robot heaven.
11.) No more God damn lens flares. Those things rape my eyes.
12.) Sam doesn't almost get a blow job from a robot.
If they fix/add those few things, we could have a film worth seeing!

Re: Transformers 3 Announced
Although I do own Part 2 on BR, It definitely wasn't as entertaining as Part 1. I think it got way caught up in the special effects and action sequences and forgot about the humans. The scene that frustrated me the most was the opening sequence in China where one of the Decepticons practically destroyed all of Shanghai, yet noone seemed to give it a shit about all the lives that were lost. In that sense, I kind of agree with what Shia said.
I'm a sucker for Transformers, so I will definitely catch Part 3.

I gotta say that the cast they're putting together has my interest piqued. I hope this somehow manages to have a script worthy of their talents.

"There's going to be a lot of death, human death. This time, they're targeting humans," LaBeouf said. "It's going to be the craziest action movie ever made, or we failed."
More quotes here.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced
Didn't they target humans and cause massive human casualties in the last movie? I seem to recall a whole montage towards the middle and an opening battle in Shanghai to that effect.

Megan Fox is out of Transformers 3. I bet they're banging down Dakota Fanning or Kristen Stewart's door right now...
