Recently I've been playing Dreamfall: The Longest Journey and I love how thematically similar a major plot point in the game has turned out to be. If you've played that game, you know what I mean. If you haven't, check it out. It's a great game.

Looking forward to the movie, hopefully Nolan keeps his streak going.

I don't recall seeing this mentioned before, but is anything in the movie actually filmed with IMAX cameras? I'm on the fence about paying the extra cash for no reason, but if there are a few scenes like in the Dark Knight, I'm in.

EDIT: answered my own question....blown up 35mm....regular theater it is :)

No. Some scenes were shot with 65mm, but no IMAX. I personally don't like IMAX (I love the negative but not the over sized screen), so I'm just going to see it on 35mm.

Yeah, I read a bit about the 65mm...I guess it's as good as you can get w/o imax cameras being there. Maybe I'll try it out.

Has Nolan said what percentage of the movie is in 65 mm?

Hopefully he goes full 65mm for the next Batman movie.

I'd love that...but the issue (in the case you're going for IMAX...which I'd love too) is all the damn noise those cams do.

Mostly it's "key action sequences" and aerial shots.

And they are huge and expensive. You can't do handheld shots with IMAX as they are to big and heavy, Nolan loves handheld so I doubt he will ever be able to do a film completely in 15 or 5 perf 65mm. It's great in theory and if IMAX could retool the camera to fit most filmmakers needs it would be great, but right now it's simply not possible and won't be by the time they start filming Batman 3.

Empire review:

With physics-defying, thunderous action, heart-wringing emotion and an astonishing performance from DiCaprio, Nolan delivers another true original: welcome to an undiscovered country.

I don't think i've been anticipating a movie like this since... well, the Dark Knight.

I dunno....The Expendables has been my most expected film since I dreamed about it when I was 4 yrs. old back in 1990. But beyond that...I have to say...TDK and Inception are two films I REALLY REALLY wanted to see.

Well, are there any African Americans in major roles? If not, then it's obviously a racist production by racist people. ;)

Re: Inception (Nolan, 2010): Contemporary Sci-fi/Action

Ok...so obviously many of us haven't seen it but are expected to like it cuz of Nolan's track record. And this is more subjective to each of us but...if Inception is better than TDK, which is possible cuz The Prestige was a lot better than BB, I can't wait to see what he does in BB3 but even more so what he does AFTER he's done w/ BB3. I hope BB3 is better than TDK (which as a superhero film is kind of hard to do cuz it was pretty damn cool). I honestly am shocked that Nolan's growth is getting better in such a short time.

I don't know about all this. I loved the Prestige but better than BB?

I think direction-wise The Prestige was better but I hated the ending for it's perceived moral equivalence.

Like I said subjective....

Still...I think his best film is probably Memento. Directing wise..he's getting better w/ each film.

Re: Inception (Nolan, 2010): Contemporary Sci-fi/Action

Yeah but TDK wasn't in the same league as The Prestige. Though latter was better than both BB and TDK. So it's not so cut and dry. Either way, I'm really looking forward to Inception.
