Yeah, I totally agree with you. I understand why they did it in one movie because it is highly unlikely the movie will do well enough to warrant a sequel. So I am glad that we will get a clear beginning, middle, and end, whereas otherwise we might only get an incomplete story. Like you pointed out, the reception to the movie has been great amongst fans of the comics, but lukewarm to negative from people who aren't familiar with the comics or didn't enjoy the comics.

I dunno...people who don't know jack about the comic are into it, out of my circle of my friends and classmates.

This movie won't break records but it should do well in August.

I was psyched for this movie before. Now I think it's my most anticipated film of the year, above Toy Story 3, Inception, and Tron Legacy.

I think this looks like a hell of a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to it.

Sell it as a video game adventure. Young audiences should respond, geeks are already there, and comedy fans will support Wright. All they need is something to hook women in.

While it won't be a blockbuster, I'm certain this film will do just fine.

Without Edgar Wright behind the movie I probably would not of followed it at all. Since the first two movies he directed are in my top ten I've been following production pretty close. While I can't seem to get into the source material I hope that fans of the graphic novel enjoy the film when they see it. I only planned on going out to see 2 movies this year...Iron Man 2 was the first and this is second.

I think they're already doing that. I mean..it's kinda cute romanticish? Weird guy trying to get girl w/ a lot of baggage...seems like something that could get the girls in for this. Again..the girls I know are interested in this...soo..maybe they do already have them?

No. I saw a trailer before MacGruber and thought it looked like complete garbage. Cera's goofy schtick is beyond stale.

I'm buying that game the day it comes out. And I'm totally going to play as Ramona.

Saw a sneak of this tonight and it was really cool. Not knowing much about it going in I was pleasantly surprised.

Could use some tightening up in spots, but Michael Cera's performance is great (he doesn't stretch much but he fits his character nicely). Winstead is gorgeous.

Great use of the video game call backs (names of bands "Crash N the Boys" and "Clash at Demonhead").

Probably go see it again in August.

BRAND NEW UK TRAILER!

It is as exponentially better than the last US trailer as the second US trailer was over the first. However, via The Sun's shitty embedded web monstrosity, the last 30 seconds were extremely choppy. Hopefully by the morning it will be up somewhere that doesn't blow.

That game looks even better than I had hoped. Can't wait for it!

EDIT: The International Trailer is incredible and has me even more psyched for the movie. It showed a lot more of the characters and makes me feel great about the casting choices. Cera actually looks like he can handle Pilgrim, Culkin looks great as Wallace, Alison Pill looks better as Kim than I expected, and Ellen Wong has got Knives down as well. Loved seeing the "I'm getting a life" part. It looks like it's going to be a lot of fun, but I'm still worried about cramming so much material into one movie, but it looks like they're keeping a lot intact and won't skimp on character development and emotions or over-the-top videogame action.

The only thing that disappoints me about the videogame is that it isn't going to be disc-based, but instead a download, but I guess that's really a minor quibble at this point.
