Yea, that is a seriously lame poster for a space epic. Even a fan with photoshop could have done way better.
I'm still stoked on the film, though.

That UK poster is cool - but that 'final' poster is bullshit IMO. Hopefully they just mean 'final teaser' poster or something, because that is weaksauce.

None of those posters are especially great. They should have just gone with a discernible shot of the Enterprise.

I'd say they're par for the course. I was always under the impression that overseas movie posters almost always sucked with Poland the truly unique exception...

I wonder how much someone got paid to produce that? Its like they got the Enterprise and hit the blur tool. Not much to look at.

I don't mind the poster. But what is that supposed to be on the Japanese poster? A disco ball??

Look at the posters on the Japanese Apple Trailer site. Of course, right now they have some relatively normal posters when I'm trying to make a point.

All the posters suck.
The UK looks like a DTV release.
Spain looks like a leftover poster of Independance Day.
Japan looks like... Um... Is that an eye?
The US poster looks like the Enterprise went into warp speed while in reverse. Rookie crew.

I like the UK poster. Very Struzan. Anyone know if it was actually done by Drew Struzan (I didn't look too closely for his signature)?

Here's a detailed explanation of what happened.

What's with these weird misspeaks related to this movie.
I seems like paramount made a really good decision in delaying the release so it could be a (hopefully) major Summer blockbuster.

There's something to be said for having the control split between two people, like one for movies and one for TV, as long as they check in with each from time to time (so we don't get a repeat of the Defiant near-debacle).
Michael Giacchino (sp?) Same guy that did The Incredibles IIRC.
Though there might be something different for the trailer of course.

But still sounds really good.

Are you talking about in First Contact? I thought it did pretty well. It took a real beating dealt some major damage and got Worf on the Enterprise E. Besides it was really nice seeing it in action specifically for what it was designed to do.

It's that bowl shaped blue thing (I'm really sick today, leave me alone) toward the front of the Enterprise just below/behind the saucer section.

Ya, but what were discussing was the fact that no one told the DS9 group they were kicking the shit out of the Defiant in the middle of a season.

They just put this poster on the Star Trek Facebook group. Out of a 145 postings so far it looks like its running approximately 8:1 positive.

Yeah, it was to be expected. Let's hope the film is as great as we all hope it will be and makes enough money so the sequel is not cancelled.
