Randy Paucsh (the last lecture guy) had like the quickest cameo of all-time

Spoiler:
he says to Robau "we have a visual" as the camera pans by him

Not that I give a damn I really liked this movie.

But talk about a plot hole.
It would not have destroyed the Earth, it would simply have shifted the orbit of the planets. A black hole does not exert more gravitational force than any other body of matter of the same mass.

Re: Star Trek XI (Abrams, 2009) - Part 2

After watching the original 6 films with my 11-year-old son, I took him to see this today (I saw it over a month ago)... and he loved it!

He caught most of the things "borrowed" from the other movies and really enjoyed the new direction.

And I appreciated the film more this time around. Having watched I-VI with him, I pulled out a few more similarities.

Still Movie of the Year for me right now.

"ST" is expected to gross 3.8M this weekend. Which would bring it's total to 246M. And that means, it will pass 250M by next weekend. Well done!!

Too bad it's not making the money that piece of shit "Transformers" is.

No offense...but a Star Trek movie was a hard sell of sorts. I mean...honestly. No mainstream moviegoer gave a shit about ST. I never went out to see them. Why? cuz they were boring. BUT Now with this one being so good and fresh. That could easily change for the sequel. Transformers was very cool when it came out and it's something that has stayed positive in people's memories. So..it's not easy to see what TF2 made more bank than ST.

I only stopped because the theaters here are down to 1 showing a day, if that, and I have to work at that time.

I understand. 4 times is still pretty good though.
