I doubt Nolan wants his film it be link with a cartoon.

I am hoping Tom Hardy plays Hugo Strange.

Maybe Nolan will throw a curveball and hire an actress to play "Nocturna".

I doubt anyone would think Nolan's film was based on that specific animated show.

Also Batman has been referred to as "The Batman" many times before.

I think it might work to call it "The Batman" because it implies that he is no longer a hero in transition. He has completed his journey and is now comfortable and capable with his position as Gotham's protector.

Except I think that transition will occur during the course of the film, hence the title.

The Dark Knight Rises is a perfect title if Catwoman is in it.

They could call it "The Dark Knight Takes a Dump" for all I care. The title is fine, though I think "The Prince of Gotham" would've been kinda cool. Probably too abstract though for marketing purposes...

I only mentioned him because around the time TDK was released I know that I read Nolan saying it was one of his favorite characters. This was suspect to me right off the bat. Maybe Hush was in his favorite Batman story? Who knows ...

I do think you have to pencil in one of the following for this movie, (Catwoman, Talia, Quinn, Ivy), as there is no female characters left, and the rumor going around is that they are currently casting a women, age 20-30s.

I did have an outside the box suggestion, as it is a DC character that has never been used on-screen, and no one ever seems to mention him. How about Deathstroke?

Not sure how they would work Hush into the films.

The whole point of the Hush storyline was a) Batman battling through his entire gallery of villains, and b) that Hush might have been Jason Todd. The story would have to heavily reworked to fit it into the Nolanverse.

Batman, Dark Knight... the natural progression would be to call the next film Rise of the Caped Crusader.

It's like I wished the Spider-man films used the different comic book titles as the film titles. ie. Spider-man. The Amazing Spider-man. The Spectacular Spider-man. Web of Spider-man. Etc.

Spiderman titles should be fairly easy for them but Sony isn't that bright I guess. Sad that they would go with just putting a number after the name.

We shall see from the reboot what they intend to do...

I think Harley Quinn would be a good way to keep the "Joker" going after Ledger's death. Maybe Catwoman too, so no love interest for Bruce Wayne this time, but going up against the two ladies.

It didn't ruin Returns, and Tim Burton made that film.

Yeah, apparently Killer Croc is on the table but Catwoman would ruin it?

re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

I think either one would ruin it; Croc is too far-fetched and Catwoman works better in arc stories, not as part of a series finale. We already had one try where the Bruce Wayne/Selina Kyle vs Batman/Catwoman arc was "to be continued."

Yeah, having a woman who dresses up in a cat costume in a movie about a man who dresses up like a bat would destroy its credibility, so you need a giant half-man, half-alligator monster, or a guy made out of clay who can shape-shift in order to maintain a sense of realism.

A female cat burglar is corny? You mean compared to the League of Shadows or a guy riding around on a horse named the Scarecrow? Please ....

The Brubaker Catwoman would be a good fit in the Nolanverse.

Catwoman is, imo, the most interesting Batman character not named Batman or The Joker. Nolan could easily make her realistic and fascinating.
