The Ventriloquist would not work w/ Nolan. That's a bit TOO far fetched for this Nolanverse.

I think Guy Pearce should just play Leonard again for the next Batman movie. Wicked tattoos and damaged mind should work well in Gotham City.

I just want Guy Pearce in another Nolan film.

re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

Only a rumor but very interesting:

http://www.slashfilm.com/2010/10/07/...e-killer-croc/

For the past day, the big buzz on Christopher Nolan’s third Batman film is that the film will shoot next April in Louisiana. The supposition for the Louisiana location, after the previous two films did so much photography in Chicago, is that Warner Bros. loves the tax breaks that helped out Green Lantern when it shot in the state earlier this year.

But what if the location also played into the incorporation of a particular character into the story? A Killer Croc might be at home in Louisiana swamps, yes? Let the speculation begin! (It already has; we’re just pushing you to talk about it.)

It started like this: ComingSoon reported that Batman 3 would shoot in April in New Orleans. And then comics writer Mark Millar dropped a pair of tweets that went as follows:

1) Oh, wait. Con gossip: I know who the villain(s) are in Batman 3 and the big scene outside Gotham sounds awesome. Totally timely locale.

2) One of the villains is from my favourite childhood run on the character. Again, very unexpected.

re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

I highly doubt Nolan would do that. And I highly doubt WB would push Nolan to do to JUST shoot in Louisiana. . They MIGHT suggest it to him but they don't want to fuck with the greatness that Nolan has brought them w/ just Chicago. I can SEE Batman going to Louisiana for something I guess but not JUST there.

A killer Croc like the way we know him..yeah..would never work. I could see a criminal named Croc and reworked to be a "regular" guy of some sort.

A load of BS I guess.

I can't see Killer Croc working in Nolan's Universe at all. Same goes for Clayface.

I don't believe that rumor, I don't think WB cares about tax breaks or budget limits. no way can nola replace Chicago for Gotham City.

I think they could work in Killer Croc. It would be awesome and amazing.

Mark Millar talks just to hear himself speak. He swore up and down that he was in contact with "people" who were casting Superman Returns and Jim Caviezel was going to be Supes.

Anything he mutters should be taken with several grains of salt.

Yup as soon as I saw Millar, I knew it was BS time.

Millar's tweets don't really have anything to do with the initial note about shooting in New Orleans though.

What is so far fetched about him? He's simply a guy with a puppet who has Dissociative Identity Disorder... He's one of the most realistic villains in the Batman universe, he could easily be Nolanized, and we all know that Nolan loves characters with psychological disorders. He's less far fetched than most of the villains Nolan has already used.

Millar's quote:

Probably just a coincidence, but the fact that Millar's quote about a "timely locale" and the news of shooting starting in Louisiana has people wondering.

If Batman was on the run/hiding, then he could certainly be far, far removed from the big city. It could certainly be a starting point, as Batman's removal from Gotham could fuel an increase in baddies - each trying to top the other in terms of "weirdness"

Mike Fleming from Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Tom Hardy has been offered a role in Batman 3. Take with a grain of salt, as always.

EXCLUSIVE: While Tom Hardy's plan to play Mad Max in the George Miller-directed Mad Max: Fury Road has hit another delay, the fast-rising Hardy's in the mix for another big film at Warner Bros. I'm told that Hardy has been set by his Inception director Chris Nolan for a lead role in the next Batman film at Warner Bros. Insiders are keeping the role secret and won't even say if he's up for a villain role, but that seems a reasonable assumption. Hardy has followed up Inception with lead roles in the Tomas Alfredson-directed adaptation of the John Le Carre novel Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, and he's currently starring with Chris Pine and Reese Witherspoon in the McG-directed Fox comedy This Means War. CAA reps Hardy, who's expected to return to Fury Road when it goes.
EDIT: Missed it by *that* much :)

Hardy has a great range, so he really could be anybody. But my money is on:

Spoiler:
The Riddler

I'm sure as time passed from TDK, he's finished rebuilding Wayne Manor, so he wouldn't need to be that far removed from the city.

Also...he's in Layer Cake (best Brit Crime of more recent years...fuck The Bank Job). He's nothing amazing in it but he's still good and subdued. He's also in RocknRolla. He plays a side character but the way it's handled is very calmly and professionally done. I was surprised by the character's depiction not being annoying.

Isn't he also the villain in Star Trek: Insurrection? Great recommendation, I know. ;)
