Yeah, Maggie Gyllenhaal is homely, but she's willing to get naked on screen. She was in an HBO movie called "Strip Search" where she spent a good amount of screen time completely naked. Tits, ass, hairy bush. She has more guts and confidence than almost all other "sexier" actresses, and that makes her attractive.

And so what. THat doesn't mean the movie is going to be great. There have been plenty of great trailers where the movie sucked and bad/average trailers where the movie was great. TDKR's trailer was very good to me but I'm not going to go overboard on a trailer either way. The fact that you are is alarming.

I agree. But... I wouldn't call anything about this "alarming". It's just a movie.

Porn actresses must REALLY have guts and confidence.

No, they don't want to work at McDonald's which is their only other career option.

Anyone think the title sucks? BB was OK to have Batman in title again, TDK was a revolutionary title, then... do we get something cool sounding again? No. This is equivalent to Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome of its trilogy.

Yeah, not fan of the title either. Seems lazy.

The title seems to have thematic relevance to the story. They even used the Rise line in the trailer. Also, the title allows the movie to use the acronym TDKR which gives it another neat connection to The Dark Knight Returns.

The Dark Knight was a revolutionary title back when Denny O'Neil first used it in the 1970s. The movies are just now catching up 40 years later.

Anyway, I agree that Rises seems to have thematic relevance to the story. If you know Bane's history in the comics, it makes sense.

The title is fine. It makes sense for them to have either used Batman or The Dark Knight in the title again and I prefer The Dark Knight personally. I don't really know what else they would have called it anyways. Batman's main other nickname is The Caped Crusader which doesn't really fit in with this version of Batman in my opinion. Plus as others have mentioned the Rises part seems like it will be a key element of the movie.

Let's not forget: The World's Greatest Detective

Batman Rises sounds more like the title of the eventual porno knock-off.

True, I did forget about that one but honestly that really wouldn't have been any better a title and I don't think it would have fit in with the story they seem to be going for. I guess technically there are a couple others he's been called over the years but none really fit as a good movie title: The Bat-Man, The Dark Knight Detective, Bats, or simply Detective.

I'm not saying we use it I'm just sayin ghat it's another title he has. The Caped Crusader and T WGD though are kind of cheesy. And would be horrible titles.

one thing I wondered was...how come we don't see more of that. We see him as TDK and as a Caped Crusader..but not a lot of him being a detective. Very little of it.

I always wanted to see this side of Batman explored in the movies. I've sort of envisioned a in-real-time story with him and the Joker with the Batman using his smarts to track him down and outwit him.

I was hoping that would happen after the burning of Wayne Manor, but we just get small tid bits of critical thinking in TDK in which he still has to rely on technology.

There was that great detective sequence of Wayne putting together that shattered bullet.
