Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

I am confused. I have not seen the trailer or prologue but is the issue:

Bane can’t be heard because the sound mix too low or Bane can’t be understood because he is speaking like me after 12-24 beers?

Bane can't be heard because some people aren't listening.

It's like Luke talking to Leia and having to take off the stormtrooper helmet to be understood.

Oh shit, I didn't know that's what I was supposed to do. That explains everything.

You'd think after getting the advance tickets for the prologue and waiting for an hour to see it on IMAX, I'd have thought to actually listen to the dialogue. But, no! Silly me.

Bane can't be clearly heard because his mouth and nose is cupped by a plastic mask.

You know, I have to call BS on anyone who says they understood EVERYTHING Bane said in the prologue, especially if they saw a bootleg. If what they actually did was read a transcript and then watch it, that's a fail. There's a difference between knowing what was said and actually hearing it.

Sorry, some of us have outgrown that "shit blows up real good without the barest scintilla of storytelling" phase.
I can think of several effectively-directed action scenes in the Burton films. For all I know he had help from a 2nd unit director for the action scenes but regardless the Axis Chemical raid, the Batwing sequence, the opening circus attack in the 2nd film, the Batmissle sequence etc. all immediately come to mind as worthy action/adventure setpieces.

Also, some of us have outgrown the "dark and serious = great writing" phase too.

He said "Bane can't be heard because some people aren't listening".

Seriously, though, this thread and its posters are just full of hyperboles.... "Its absurd to think anyone can understand a single word Bane says" from "You would have to try hard not to understand him crystal clear" BS is getting annoying. Is inaudible? No. Is he crystal clear? No. Get over it, people. The movie will be out in 6 months.

Wow, how original and utterly scathing! I've never seen this before. Good work.

So poorly edited and badly shot, it hardly abides the telling.

Who said anything about "dark"? It's about pace, careful plotting, and smart storytelling -- three narrative elements Burton couldn't pull out of his ass on the best of days. No one can really complain about the storylines of Burton's Batman movies, because there weren't any.

I'm sure all the teens yapping during the film will make it that much easier to hear Bane's dialogue.

If you see the flick on IMAX(which everybody should attempt) you tend to get a pretty respectable crowd who is actually interested in paying attention and enjoying the film. Regular theaters during the weekend are still a nightmare though.

I think it's funny how angry some of you people are getting at the fact that some of us understood it. I may have missed a few words but overall I didn't have that much difficulty while watching the bootleg .

Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

I've watched the preview, and now I can't wait!

Spoiler:
...for the TDKR review threads - they have the potential to rival the TDK threads. Hell, the movie is about six months away and everyone's already bickering.
