Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)
I love the Tumbler. I was pissed when they blew it up in TDK. Though it was interesting to find out they had intended to blw it up back in BB but never got around to it for whatever reason.
Looking at the "Batwing", it could simply be a modification/extension of the Tumbler itself. Similar to how the Batpod was revealed to be an escape pod of the Tumbler in TDK. |

ok...now that I see it from the front...I can see that being a jet thing aka batwing.
Yeah...this is going to be pretty awesome. VERY neat contraption they got there. I'd like to see how it was made...wonder how much the Batwing (or whatever it's finally called) part weighs? Aside...I can't believe I'm the one that broke this on the web Thursday night, and still getting media requests about it. It's an odd situation to say the least. |
Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)
I've been wanting to get down there to see some filming but it hasn't been able to happen, I'm so jealous.

Nerd Alert
The correct name is Batplane. It was only ever called Batwing in the Tim Burton movie. Batwing in the comics is a character who is the Batman from Africa. Batwing: http://dcu.blog.dccomics.com/files/2.../batwing-1.jpg Spoiler:

Overall, it's been pretty exciting to see a HUGE production being done here, as it is a beautiful, albeit small city. I hope there are many more after this... |

I don't ever remember anyone actually discussing specifics about what exactly was going to happen in "Batman Begins", just that they intended to destroy the Tumbler at some point in the movie. Maybe it wasn't supposed to survive the monorail track blow-up?
I think Nick Martin's guess as to when is the only likely scenario. |

I walked through the set tonight. Saw them do about 4 takes of Bane and his crew driving Tumblers down Smithfield, and then Catwoman in the same place. It was pretty cool. They were doing a bunch of night shots on Smithfield when I came home too.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)
I have a bad feeling that "The Dark Knight Rises" will be more lightweight like "Batman Begins" than the bravely complex "The Dark Knight".

Wiki explains better than I... "It also presents a slightly alternate ending; Batman is forced to detonate the Batmobile in order to destroy the monorail tracks and stop Ra's Al Ghul from reaching Wayne Tower with the Microwave Emitter, whereas in the film, Sergeant Gordon uses the Batmobile's missiles to destroy the tracks. Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)
I'll drop this here:
Now there’s a rumor going around that there’s a another film in the works that will utilize both Batman and Superman, which, for simplicity’s sake, will heretofore be referred to as Batman/Superman. According to our pals at Think McFly Think, Warner Bros. has two plans for a Batman/Superman film. The first, and their preferred plan, is to feature Batman as the veteran superhero who takes Superman under his grizzled wing. Apparently, the hope is that they can convince Christian Bale – with the help of dump trucks full of cash, perhaps – to return to the franchise after Rises, despite Nolan’s absence. The second path, if they can’t get Bale to return, is to feature Superman as the veteran superhero who takes a newly-cast Batman under his wing. In both scenarios, the studio would like to use Henry Cavill as the man of tomorrow. The first one's the only one that makes sense, because they're rebooting Superman so it wouldn't make sense to have him be the veteran one. |
Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)
The thought of Superman taking Batman under his wing makes me laugh.

What's Keaton doing these days?

ah..it's both.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)
Both scenarios sound stupid.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)
true...
Having a Nolan take on Batman....I don't really want to see a take on the character where his foes break...the norm. Granted...I didn't follow or know of Nolan till BB. I just like the more serious take on the character. I've no idea how I'll react to seeing a much different take on the character where..really crazy shit happens. I grew up w/ the previous TB/JS films...which as a little kid, I loved. As an adult.......not so much. Especially the JS films but the TB films as well (TB films being the better). |

Yeah, Batman kept everyone in check. Man...I really loved the JLU cartoons.

I can sort of buy the 1st one, because Batman has always sort of mentored Superman in a sense. At least if you watch the JLU cartoons it was sort of that way. More so in a sense that Batman could keep tabs on him and his powers.
If they go the joint movie route, i'd rather see it be along the lines of the comic book series that just explored those personality conflicts with both already established heroes rather then Batman teaching Superboy. |

That makes me think of Batman trying to teach Superman right/wrong and how to be a hero, but given the differences between the two characters and their personalities that just seems silly to me.
