Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)
It's weird, in one video it looked like it was an indentation in the ground, but in a video shown on "Batman On Film" which was a full story about it, it looked raised.
So Hines Ward goes from "Dancing With The Stars" winner, to being busted for a DUI, to making a TDKR cameo.
Sweet.

I'll wait to cast judgement till I see em in motion. I've learned pretty much with any superhero movie, the stills are going to look pretty ridiculous. Motion makes it so you don't focus on the flaws and tend to accept more.
Although, then again, this might not even be the 'catwoman" costume, just her burglar setup

Again...I don't mind her without the mask. She's got most of the Jim Lee design there...which made her more practical (if that makes sense).

Yeah if she had the Jim Lee Catwoman mask, she would look great. Cause yeah the suit feels pretty close to the Jim Lee Design.

If she had the JL mask..it'd be fucking great to see that. Cuz again..it was a more practical design for her to do her thing. I can live w/ this. I like the suit. Would love to know more of what kind of Selina Kyle we're getting in terms of story involvement.

You mean the Darwyn Cooke design? Because Jim Lee isn't so great at designing costumes, and as far as I know she's been wearing the same costume since the Bubaker/Cooke revamp 10 years ago.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)
Did people here honestly expect, and want to see, a cat mask for her costume?
The thigh high boots and long gloves are even more 'out there' than I expected Nolan to go with this. Costume design looks fine to me- albeit a little action film generic. I've always assumed that some aspect of her character is as a physically daring, high tech cat burglar. That is an occupation that would imply a desire for anonymity. I never saw her being used in this film as "hello Gotham! I'm Catwoman. I'm gonna steal your shit when you're not home!"
Maybe she's employed early on by the LoS to specifically steal all that Wayne tech- which is how she first gets on Batmans radar? Ultimately though, I expect her function in the third act to be a Robin-esque one. Robin might be too over the top for a Nolan film, but a character like this would easily provide the same narrative supplements (i.e. comes to rescue at a critical moment, get imperiled and need saving, assists in action/exposition scenes, etc).
I'm sure at some point in the script, Wayne will drop the "cat-woman" moniker sarcastically in conversation, probably while talking to Alfred- but I'm pretty sure the character will be referred to most of the time as Selina. If she calls herself Catwoman- that would just seem downright silly, unless again she was doing it facetiously.
Not seeing what the problem is with the goggles either. I like this get up better than the goofy Brubaker/Cooke style goggles the character has been sporting the last 10 years. And since these were most likely designed to mimic the domino/ cat-mask profile from the 60's-early 70's, but still look like they could function well for enhanced/night vision, it makes for a subtle but logical call back to another era of the character .

They show a lot of clips every night on the local news of what they were doing that day...and the daily news says "5th ave will be closed off and on today, and expect to hear plenty of gunfire and possibly see some pyro", lol.
