Wow. Unexpected news but can't necessarily say that I'm disappointed. I wasn't really sure if Nolan would be using any more villains that were in previous Batman films, but a Selina Kyle/Catwoman story done right should be awesome. Bane has never been my favorite character from Bat's rogues gallery but I'm sure knowing his reputation from the last two Batman films (and his films in general) Nolan will do a fine job with the character. I wonder if this means that Talia won't be involved or if perhaps she is controlling Bane.

Excellent news. I'm REALLY interested to see what Nolan and company does with Bane and actually make him a kick ass villain than the pussy he was in Batman & Robin.

Good News! on Catwoman As for the other villains any could have worked for me but Catwoman feels like a necessity at this point, the most logical character to have in this final installment. With the other bitch gone Wayne can now see his real counterpart. Whereas the Joker was his perfect opposite, Catwoman is his mirror, we need both in order to see the complete psychology of the character.

Catwoman was a given once they killed off Rachel. I've yet to see an Anne Hathaway performance that really impressed me, but if anyone can get it, it'll be Nolan.
Tom Hardy as Bane signals to me that they're going to make Bane more like he is in the comics, a very smart guy with a chemical dependency. I hope they resist the temptation to bulk him up to the point of absurdity.

re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)
While I love the casting of Hardy (that dude is seriously underrated), I am not sure about Anne Hathaway. Now granted, she is incredibly talented and Nolan is a very good director, I am not sure she can pull of the sexual tension needed to play the part. However, we all said the same thing about Heath Ledger getting the part of The Joker. Can he play it, will he be good...etc. And look at how that turned out.
Either way, I hope this is not the end of Nolan being involved in this franchise and I look forward to the results.

Anne Hathaway as Catwoman? Tom Hardy as Bane?
I did not foresee this...
Someone obviously loved seeing the Joker in that nurse's outfit.

I liked the rumor about Cher as an older, has-been Catwoman. Oh well.
I had reservations about Ledger as Joker and we saw how that turned out, so I completely trust Nolan at this point.
