^Great graphic. Only the face looks weird particularly the nose.

Re: Tron 2 Announced at SDCC!!
This could either be a good thing and they're going to the Pixar brain trust for tweaking to make sure the movie is as good as it can be. Or its an indication that its a steaming pile and they are desperately trying to fix it.
EW.com has learned that the CG-extravaganza due out at the end of the year received some key input from some very brilliant filmmakers, mainly the elite brain trust at Pixar in Northern California. In late March, the Tron filmmakers chose to show a very early working cut of the film starring Garrett Hedlund and Jeff Bridges to Pixar’s John Lasseter, Ed Catmull, The Incredibles director Brad Bird, Toy Story 3 screenwriter Michael Arndt, and others. The one-day exercise was done in advance of some planned re-shoots scheduled for June with the intent of beefing up the very things that Pixar is so good at: character, emotion, and theme. Following the screening — and other viewings with various live-action filmmakers in Los Angeles — Disney hired Arndt and Bird to write some pages for the upcoming re-shoots, which lasted six days last month http://hollywoodinsider.ew.com/2010/...lywood+Insider |
Re: Tron 2 Announced at SDCC!!
Showing them the first cut for input doesn't surprise me. If it were something close the final cut, then I'd be worried.

Re: Tron 2 Announced at SDCC!!
Also not surprising considering Disney is banking on this to be a huge hit, but I just don't see it happening. I don't believe the PR on this; I'll bet the film has some major issues.

Re: Tron 2 Announced at SDCC!!
Reshoots are never a good sign, but at least Disney is aware there is a problem and is trying to fix it. Why doesn't disney just shut down their film studio and let Pixar make everything?;)

And while this news can go either way, I'm somewhat optimistic. If they really didn't think it was working, wouldn't they be using cheaper talent than the Pixar folks so as not to throw good money after bad? I'm thinking they've got something on the threshold of being good, and the film has enough supporters in the right places that they're going the extra mile for it. |
Re: Tron 2 Announced at SDCC!!
Hey, if Pixar can turn Flynn into a father they way they've done with Sully, Marlin, and Bob Parr, who are we to complain? I can cry at live action just as well as animated.

Trailer #2 - http://movies.yahoo.com/TRONLegacyRevealed
|
Re: Tron 2 Announced at SDCC!!
Despite some slight bobble-head movement from Clu 2's head, that looks damned good.
|
Re: Tron 2 Announced at SDCC!!
Agree. Why is Clu 2 angry with Flynn? Because of what happened with Master Control in the first movie?
|
Re: Tron 2 Announced at SDCC!!
Wow, that was a very impressive trailer. I still like the pacing of the teaser a little bit better, but I'm going to see this no matter what now.
|
Re: Tron 2 Announced at SDCC!!
Looks fantastic.
|
Re: Tron 2 Announced at SDCC!!
That trailer looks awesome.
|
Re: Tron 2 Announced at SDCC!!
yeah...bobble head moment irks me. Some of the CGI looks too clean..so it gives off it's CGIness...but looks great and a lot of fun. Hopefully there's a story that complements the great image.
I do also agree that the other trailer had some awesome as fuck pacing.. <object width="600" height="392"><param name="movie" value="http://www.traileraddict.com/emd/24842"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.traileraddict.com/emd/24842" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" wmode="transparent" width="600" height="392" allowFullScreen="true"></embed></object> |
Re: Tron 2 Announced at SDCC!!
Add me to the list of those who preferred the first trailer. I like movies that keep things mysterious yet familiar.

Re: Tron 2 Announced at SDCC!!
I've been jerking it furiously to that new trailer all day.

I'm getting exhausted. Looks awesome so far. The CGI face is actually pretty good, better then I expected. But I agree with Snake and Dr. DVD, the first trailer is better. |
Re: Tron 2 Announced at SDCC!!
This trailer kicks ass but the first trailer was more superior. I can't wait to see this movie. They should not reveal a lot in trailers.
|
Re: Tron 2 Announced at SDCC!!
Ish...
Don't like the CGI head/face stuff one bit. It still doesn't look right, but they've still got a couple months to hopefully get it straightened out. The rest looked pretty good though. |

The first trailer was a teaser; the second trailer is a trailer. Of course there's more story here.

I know that it is a second trailer's job to get people into the story, but the teaser was just so cool with how it built to the discovery of Flynn's arcade and then...bam, you're back in the instantly recognizable world of Tron! |
Re: Tron 2 Announced at SDCC!!
I blame the pacing
