Superman Returns Sequel is a GO!

Please, no. I've always hated that look. The reasons behind Superman's powers have to do with his "dense molecular structure", the gravity on Krypton, the Sun, etc. They have nothing to do with him being a big muscle-bound freak.

Johns has this insidiously genius talent of taking stupid, outdated or forgotten elements from bigone storylines, re-introducing them in a new light, making them TOTALLY badass while at the same time entirely faithful.
He single-handedly redeemed Hal Jordan, for Chrissake.
Johns totally owns DC.

I mean hell, Kal has been lifting heavy shit since his powers came online in his teens. Even solar powered Kryptonians must gain mass when lifting heavy weight over time.

Tom Welling all the way! He's a good actor and perfect for the role...He must work out for Smallville, but they probably have it monitered so that he keeps fit, but not mega buff. For the movie, he'll get the mega-buff training, and that will be fine. Hasn't anyone seen that photo of Jake Gylanhall for Prince of Persia? He's mega buff for that film, and he's normally scrawny.
Brandon Routh is a bad actor - he had his chance and that's enough. Let Tom Welling be Superman. I'm sure they could sell even more Smallville DVDs if Welling becomes Superman...

I concede it is not the best, but I don't think it is a liability. I think Routh's lack of acting chops is a bigger issue. In addition, Routh looks like a guy who is on roids to fill the part. Welling is a much more natural big dude.

Humbug on you! It's still a cool ass pic!
Listen, I realized Welling had some guns on 'em when I watched Smallville last season. Hell, you could probably even find my post in the TV Forum where I posted as much.
But listen, everyone knows Routh was picked to Channel Christoper Reeve. That's no secret.
His acting, his looks, his build, his voice, his Clark Kent, and his Superman all had the "Christopher and Dana Reeve stamp of approval". That said, neither Routh nor his acting was bad in "SR". In fact, Routh was probably the only thing that saved that film and mind you, I generally liked "SR". Welling is great, in Smallville. But I just don't know if he can pull off a full on Superman after being the whiny bitch farmboy who barely wants to learn to fly, and who only wants to stay home and fuck Lana**.

**Not that I blame him for wanting to stay home fucking Lana while the world goes to shit.

And assuming the channeling Reeves experiment will no longer be tested, they should just roll with Welling. Reeve is Reeve. The old Supermans are a separate entity. Start all over.

Just off the top of my head. Don't have a problem with another "unkown", as long as this one can ACT.

I've always been on the Welling bandwagon, but what about someone like Clive Owen? Don't know if he could pull off Superman's voice, but I like his look for Supes.

Clive is cool but there's something "too dark" about him. Not "dark" in a bad way mind you. Just in a may be too dark to play The Big Blue Boyscout kinda way.
